■ Mariah Visits Japan At The End Of March For Promotion Tour

AWWWWWWW:):):) っということで今日UMJの方から教えて頂いた情報ですがMariahが3月末にプロモーションで来日することが決まりました。まだはっきりとした日程の詳細はわかりませんが後日わかり次第お伝えできればっと思います。おそらく3月28日か29日〜4月1日あたりだと思います。まだ決定していないのでご報告を控えていましたが、4月6日発売予定の日本盤のアルバムですが、Misty Moonが収録できないのであれば1週間前倒しの3月30日にシングルと同時発売で先行発売計画が進められておりただ今マライア側の許可待ち状態なんです。まぁこれは許可が下りなければそのまま4月6日なんですが、この許可待ちなんでまだず〜っと「4月6日（予定）」の文字がついてるわけです。私がわかっている情報はこれだけですが、まだ本当に具体的な日程などはこれからだと思うのでUMJへのお問い合わせはお控えください。尚、メールやBBSで「何日に来日するんですか？」「何時ごろに来るんですか？」「どこに行けば会えますか？」「どこに泊まるんですか？」などの質問はご遠慮ください。プライベート・ジェットで来るはずですからこちらもわからないのが現状です。もしそういった質問が出たとしても返事はしませんのでご了承ください。お伝えすることがあるときはこのNewsでお知らせしていきます。

HBFでILTのRemixをDLできます。モラレスが以前、完成の出来に太鼓判を押してたRemixですが、まぁまぁよかったかな。そんな弄ってはいませんが新しいヴォーカルも少し入ってたりで新鮮な感じがしました。先日のラジオで流れたRemixとは違ったようですね。 こっちのRemixはちょっとあのフルートの音が弄られててクラッシクベースのサウンドも入っておりなんかHIPHOP色が濃いMIXで私はこっちの方が好きでした。

■ 結論から言うと…『マライア完全復活』!!!!

言うまでもなく、ここ数年はその奇行（？）と言うか、方向性を見失っている、というか、いや、向かおうとしている方向性はわかるんだけどなんか空回り風と言うか、まぁ「全然万全じゃない感」がありましたよね、マライア。歌声にしてもフェイクに頼ったウィスパー唱法というか、掠れ声というか、往年の「７オクターブ」（だっけ？）伝説を聴いて感動した世代にはイマイチ物足りない気がしていたモノです。( Read More )


■ 「マライア取材：ディーヴァ光線浴びてきました。」

木曜日のアルバム試聴会、金曜日の取材通訳に続き土曜日はTV用の共通素材や各番組用のID録り（「○○をご覧の皆さんこんにちは、マライアです」、っていうアレね）というスケジュール。USの媒体は彼女のスケジュールに合わせて密着すりゃいいだけだがインターナショナルの場合は各国からジャーナリストを飛ばしてきて短期間で最大限の取材をぎっしり詰め込むのがお約束。大抵は日、英、独、仏、豪、スウェーデンなど。そのアーティストの規模や各国での人気度によって多少参加国が変わったりすることはあるけど。金曜日は紙媒体の取材だけだったのでタンクトップにノーブラ、ブーツインさせたタイトなデニム姿（でも化粧はカンペキ）というカジュアルな出で立ちのマライアでしたがやはりTVとなると気合いが違うようで。しかも本人たっての希望／提案で30分おきくらいにお色直しして登場という演出付き。。。TV素材には色々なバリエーションがあった方が良いだろう、っていう気配りと解釈すべきなんだろうけど、彼女がMTV Cribsに登場した時のことを覚えている人ならわかるでしょ？…彼女のヴィジュアルに対するこだわり、というか見せたがり、っていうか、まあその意気込みたるや常人の域を超えてますな。

それが一番顕著だったのが、マライアお抱えの照明担当として采配をふるうビルの存在。つーかどこの国にプロモやツアーで出向く時も必ず彼とクルーを引き連れて行くらしい。彼女が日本のTV局の歌番組に出演しようと、その照明は必ずビルが手掛けるのだそう。予定より数時間遅れて登場したマライア、衣装＃１はミッソーニのニットドレス。昨日のウェーヴヘアから一転、ピシ〜っと伸ばしたストレート。会場となったミートパッキング・ディストリクトのGansvoortホテルの最上階のペントハウスの巨大な窓の下に広がる夕闇のハドソン河と室内にデコレートされたキャンドルに白い薔薇。吹き抜けの2階部分にある彼女の控え室から着替えを済ませ、しもべ（にしか見えなかった）に手を引かれ階段を下りてくる姿はマジでディーヴァ、姫様ですよ。しかしそこからが長かった。ビルが数時間かけてセッティングした照明にばさりばさりとダメ出しするマライア。どこをどう映して欲しいのか、自分をどう見せたいのか、はたまたどう見られたいのか、それをカンペキに把握しているプロフェッショナルっぷり。何てったって全世界でアルバムを１億５千枚（だったっけ）売り上げている人だもの。ビートルズとかプレスリーの記録を抜いちゃった人だもの（詳しいことは忘れた）。そのくらい当たり前なんだろうけどさ。椅子の座り心地、はたまた肘掛けの有無が与える彼女の姿勢、ロングドレスの裾をたくし上げるそのギリギリ感（やっぱり露出するのが好きらしい）、髪の毛の毛先の伸び具合、胸元にはたくフィニッシング・パウダーの分量、その全てにおいて彼女が絶対権を握っているのだ。メイク担当、スタイリスト、照明係、その誰一人として彼女に指図する者はいない。It's All About Herなのだ。( Read More )

■ "It's Like That (REMIX)" Premieres

The remix version of "It's Like That" premiered on Chicago's B96.3 during Stylz & Roman's Top 9@9 countdown where it placed at #7 last night. We remember B96 as the very first radio station to have played "It's Like That" in early January. The remix is reportedly produced by Scott Storch, who is behind such hits like Terror Squad's "Lean Back", Mario's "Let Me Love You Remix", 50 Cent's "Candy Shop" and Mariah's very own "U Make Me Wanna". Reports also reveal that the remix features some new raps from Fat Joe but apparently offers no new vocals from Mariah. People who were tuned in to B96.3 last night claimed that Mariah called in to the studio to introduce the song.

Jam'n 94.5 (Boston, MA) and Hot 97 Funkmaster Flex's Show (New York City, NY) have reportedly played the remix as well. One listener described the sound to closely resemble the beat of "U Make Me Wanna".

どうやらILTを一番初めにリークしたシカゴのラジオ局が昨日ILTのRemixをOAしたようです。おそらくこれも「リーク」したことになるんでしょうが（笑）前、MariahがRemix撮りの時にスタジオに入って歌いなおしてたような感じだったので期待してたのですが、このRemixを聴いたファンの話によるとMariahは歌いなおしてないような感じだったみたいです。ちょっと残念。これまでに50セントやClub MixはUPされたりして聴いてましたが....これも同じなのか....。あっそうそう書き忘れてましたが先日の試聴会でAlbumヴァージョンのILTを聴いたわけなんですがシングル・ヴァージョンと最後が少し違ってました。アルバム・ヴァージョンは最後のMariahの声が先に歌ってるMariahの声とクロスするような感じでちょっと短い変な終わり方でした。シングルヴァージョンで聴きなれてるからかもしれませんが私はシングルバージョンの方がいい終わり方だと感じました。

■ Mariah on Oprah

Earlier today, Mariah has taped her appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show in Chicago, IL. Mariah shared Oprah's "Wildest Dreams" show with Nate (Oprah's interior designer) and Halle Berry and was the first to appear. She surprised an eleven year old boy from Hawaii with a recording contract and will produce his first CD. The boy was picked because said he loves to sing and wanted to be on the Oprah show and that he loves Mariah's song "Hero". He sang Hero for the entire audience and was taken by Mariah to record it in a studio with guidance from Randy Jackson and Maryann Tatum. Mariah did not perform any songs but said she hopes to come back for another show before the album comes out.

Oprahの「世界一のファン」に選ばれたのはハワイに住むレコード会社と契約している11歳の男の子だったようです。彼はHeroがとても好きだそうでRandy&Maryannたちとスタジオに入りHeroを録音したそうです。で、この日のOprahで姫を待っていたファンの人たちが無事に皆からのFanbookを渡せたようで姫は喜んでいたようです。おぉ〜私も忙しかったけど参加した甲斐がありました。笑ってくれればいいけれど（笑）

The album cover was announced for the first time in Japan. The next listening party is held in Germany. The background is black color. Mariah strikes a pose. ( The pose looks like this photo ). Mariah wears a golden transparent camisole. And, she is putting on a golden miniskirt. She has exposed her left leg. Her right leg is covered from the skirt with a golden veil cloth lightly. The veil cloth waves by the wind. Mariah closed her eyes and stands coolly. 7 printed lyrics and ILT Promo disc were distributed at the listening party in Japan. The font that writes the title looks like the font used for the invitation of the wedding and the invitation etc. of the party in a very elegant form of font. However, I do not open it to the public until these lyrics are released. Lyrics of WBT that got into the news ahead are complete fake.

■ Japan Listening Party Review



Album Cover:

ようやくTEOMのジャケットが決まったようで今日、ジャケットがお披露目になっていました。残念ながらまだ未公開ということなので写真は撮れませんでした。なのでイメージ的に似ていた写真を選んでみました。まずジャケットは背景が真っ黒でMariahはほぼ左写真と同じポーズをとった全体像が写ったものです。服は透けたゴールドのキャミソールらしきトップに下も同じく透けたゴールドのスカートを履いています。右足はスカート丈が短く脚を露出しています。左足は同じくゴールドのヴェールのようなものをまとい風になびいてる感じです。靴はEntertainment Weeklyで掲載されていた時のあのゴールドのサンダルとよく似ていました。そしてMariahの表情ですが、この左の写真では笑っていますが、今回は目を閉じて（薄っすら開いていたかも）写っています。こんな説明でうまく皆さんの頭に描かれたでしょうか？（笑）見た感じの印象は「たくまし〜い（笑）」別にふざけて言ってるわけでもないのですが、今までのジャケットのイメージからいくとお姫様路線な綺麗とかそういう感じを想像しがちだと思うんですけど、なんかね、すごい強そうに見えました。「これが私よ」っていう強い存在感を感じさせる雰囲気が漂ってました。何かに例えると自由を求め革命を起こしたジャンヌ・ダルク風でしょうか。ちなみにこのジャケットの写真は「Marcus Nispel ?」さんが撮ったようです。すいませんマーカスまでは聞き取れたんですが苗字が微妙...。ゴージャスでとっても綺麗でした。

現段階ではボーナストラックやハイブリッドディスク等の発表はありませんでした。今日はこの14曲のうちの青色の７曲が公開されました。Lyricsも一通り見ましたが、先日本物らしきWeBelongToghtherの歌詞が出回りましたがまったくのFakeでした。７曲のうち2曲（ILT, SaySomethin' )はすでにリーク済みで皆さんも聴いているので説明は飛ばします。

Shake It Off
誰もが聴いた後に「本当に身体ごとシェイクするような楽しい歌」と言っていましたが、まさにその通り！この歌はより日本人好みのポップでCuteなナンバーです。私は可愛い雰囲気がThe Oneと少し似てるな〜っとも感じました。これシングルで切ればNo.1狙えるヒット性の非常に高い歌です。

Mine Again
Benny Medina氏によると「来年のGrammyを考えてこのアルバムの制作を進めてきた」と考えを明らかにされていましたが、このMine Againを紹介する時に「この歌でMariahは絶対にGrammyを獲得するよ！もぅ今からでもお祝いにシャンパンを開けて飲みたいぐらいです」っと、ものすごいPUSHをされていました。曲調はシンプルにピアノの伴奏からはじまりスティービーワンダーを感じさせる70年代のソウルな曲。声のキーは初めからかなり高く綺麗な伸びのある声を十分に聞かせてくれています。Soul Train Music Awardsとかでパフォーマンスして欲しい歌です。前評判がずっといいこのMine AgainですがGoodです。たま〜にしつこいバラード歌ったりもしますがこれは意外とあっさりしてました。

Get Your Number
これどう聴いてもNellyに聞こえるんですがBenny Medina氏がJDと何度も紹介していたのでJDなんでしょうか。(謎）個人的には普通でした。サビの掴みはあるけれどまぁまぁかな。自分的にはNellyに聞こえるので例えにくいんですが、リークされたTonightよりもNellyっぽい感じです。

We Belong Together
2ndシングルとなるバラード曲ですが、以前Mariahが説明していたようにOne SweetDayとAlwaysBeMyBabyを合わせた感じって言ってましたが、そんな感じです（笑）歌い上げるようなバラードじゃないけどABMBみたいに歌詞はHAPPYじゃないけどメロディーは楽しそうみたいな。そんな感じだと思います。私はI Still BelieveのPure Imaginationに似てると感じました。この歌もNo.1狙える歌です。JDアタッテマスネ〜！

Fly Like A Bird
今回生バンドと3曲ほど作ってますがそのうちの一つ、このアルバムの最後を締めくくるゴスペルナンバー。ゴスペルといってもそんな濃くもないです。生バンド演奏を聴くとどうしてもSubtle Invitationを思い出させます。この曲でもTheReturnOfTheVoiceを感じさせてくれています。


The Return Of The Voice :



最近よくこの「The Return Of The Voice」って言葉目にしますよね？会見で説明されていましたがある雑誌の撮影の時に今回のアルバムからMariahが感じたこと。Mariah自身が一番表現したいことは何か？って考えた時に姫の口からこの「The Return Of The Voice」っと出てきたそうです。「やっと自分の声が戻ってきたの。それをすごく感じるの」と姫が説明し皆がこのアルバムを聴いて納得し、とってもいい言葉だということでこれを今回のキャッチコピーにしよう！っとなったらしくこれから刷られるポスターなどにこの言葉が入って宣伝されるようです。

ということで昨日、UMJで行われた"The Emancipation Of Mimi"の試聴会に行ってきました。ビックリしたんですがマネージャーのBenny Medinaさんを始め本国から3人のお偉いさん方がやってきてました。はい、そんなこと知らなかったのでビビリました（笑）で、マネージャーがいろいろとアルバムのコンセプトや制作過程の話を交えながら7曲を紹介しました。もう何度も言ってましたが「本当にもう数え切れないほど何度も聴いてるんだけど飽きないしずっと身体がリズムにのって動き出すし楽しいアルバムなんです」ってベタ惚れしていました。あと、待ちに待ったPVは今月の28日に公開すると言ってました。で、ILTとWBTはやっぱり一つの話になってるみたいで前半がILTで後半がWBTって事らしいです。何でもある女の人が小さなトラブルに巻き込まれてギャング達（Mariahの仲のいいラッパーたち）が出てきて....っというお話のようです。Mariahクラスの試聴会になると集まる人数も多かったのですが、そんな中に目覚ましTVの方も来られており「今回のMariahのこのファッション路線は何系をイメージしているのか？」っという質問をされておりMedina氏が「大人のSEXYさを表現していってる」っと答えてました。いつか近々目覚ましでMariahの宣伝やってくれるのかな〜？あっ、そうそう最後ちらっとKanyeWestとのStay The Nightを流してくれてましたが期待するほどのものではなかった感じ（爆）ゆっくり聴くんじゃなくチラっと聴いただけだったので微妙ですが.....。とにかくこのThe Emancipation Of Mimi皆さん期待して待っててくださいね。期待は裏切りませんよ〜。はじめ参加してる面子からみるとHIPHOPの割合がまた高くなってると思ったけれど少なからず前半はすぐに浸透し心と体に馴染んで口ずさみ踊ってしまうマライアらしい楽しいものになってます。後半は少しアダルトな魅力が感じさせられますね〜。これ絶対に売れます！webmaster太鼓判！！

■ UK LISTENING PARTY REVIEW

Earlier today, a listening party to "The Emancipation of Mimi" was held in London, England. Among the invitees were record executives and key media people from around the world.

7 songs from the album were played: "It's Like That", "Say Something," "Get Your Number" which apparently features rap by Nelly as well as "To The Floor," (alternately known as "Tonight") "Mine Again," "We Belong Together," and "Fly Like a Bird" which was the last of the 14-track album.

In addition, a short clip from the Urban remix to "It's Like That" was played.

A Q&A session with L.A Reid followed where he spoke about the current plans for the album: 5 singles, video release by February 25th and tentative plans for a dual-disc cd/dvd hybrid.

Please remember that by the time the album comes out many changes can still be made such as sequencing, removing or adding tracks and changing titles. All the information above is subject to change.

先日UKにてLAリードがロンドンで世界中のメディアを集めTEOMの試聴会を行ったようです。アルバム14曲中上記文面に書かれている７曲を試聴会で流したようです。また少しですが出来たてホヤホヤのILT Remixも聴けたようです。このアルバムからはできれば５曲シングルカットする予定だそうです。とりあえず今はハイスピードでWe Belong Togetherが待ち構えてますからね〜。いいんじゃないでしょうか。PVは今月２５日頃までにお披露目する予定だそうです。また、CDとDVDを２重にしたハイブリッドディスクにする計画が立てられているそうです。以前もこの話は出ていましたが本当にやるつもりなんですね...。それで2曲のPV撮影を一気にやってしまったんでしょうか....？まぁこれらの話は予定ですので変わる可能性もありますが非常に楽しみでございます。尚、来週日本のユニヴァーサルでもプレス向けの試聴会が行われますのでさらに何か日本だけの特典もわかるかもしれません。お楽しみに！

Yesterday, according to the CBS commercial for the 47th. Grammy Awards, it seemed Mariah would be part of the special part for the "Special Tribute to the tsunami victims", as she was featured in the commercial. Today, the mod on Mariah Carey.com posted this:
"Mariah is not participating in this segment. Last I was told should would not be attending this year's Grammy's."

■ "TEOM" Japan Album Pushed Back?

う〜ん...ちょっと信じ難い話なんですが、アルバムが４月6日から4月中旬から下旬（20日か２７日）に延期になったという情報をUMJの人から聞きました。えぇ〜っ！？って驚きでしたがまだ信じれません。US盤と間違ってるんじゃないかと思ったのですが...。あと、Misty Moonが収録するかしないかでまだ揉めているらしいです（苦笑）理由はMariah側が「１曲の半分もない本当に短い曲だしCMの為に歌っただけだし....」っと言って渋っているらしい（笑）あぁ...この延期話間違いであって欲しいのですが、UMJと連携しているHMVがまだonlineでTEOMの日本盤の情報を掲載しないのが気になります。

おぉ〜。今週はデジタルシングルのセールスのポイントもありで先週から12位Upの24位までついに上ってきました。が、しかしラジオのエアプレイ数とは反対にこのデジタルシングルのセールスがイマイチ振るっていないようでデビューチャートとなる今週は39位スタートになったようでした。う〜ん、難しいところですね。そろそろエアプレイの威力も一旦穏やかになりがちな時期でもあるのであとはちょっと飽きモードに入る前に来週か再来週までにPVを露出して欲しいところです。TVに出演するのが一番ほんとはいいんですがね〜。来週は15位以内に来て欲しいですね〜。頑張れマライア！

■ Station issues apology after negative Mariah remarks surface

On Thursday, January 27th, we posted audio clips of Power 92 disc jockey Brandon responding to people as they asked to hear Mariah’s new single “It’s Like That” played on air.

Instead of spinning the song as requested, Brandon dished out rude comments that were insulting to both Mariah as well as the people requesting her single. “No hoes are played on this station,” he told one listener. “Mariah is a slut, that’s why she doesn’t have any fame anymore. She opens her legs for everybody, even the farm animals.”

The listening audience was appalled and flooded the station with their disdained opinions. Some fans even filed complaints with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which regulates communications for a number of media outlets including radio stations.

As a result, Brandon issued an apology on air. “It was inappropriate of me to say the things I did,” he said. Since then, he has not been on-air regularly and reports suggest that he has either been demoted or temporarily suspended from the station.

The station, located in Peoria, Illinois, is also now kindly accepting requests for Mariah’s “It’s Like That”. If you live in the area, please call the station at (866) 686-9292 or (309) 686-9292 to request the single. All votes will be tallied and counted towards the Power 9@9 countdown, which airs at 9:00pm central time.

ほぉ〜っ。これは知りませんでしたが何でも先週のPower92ラジオのDJがILTをリクエストしていたリスナーに対し「Mariahはアバズレだよ、いい評判もないしね。彼女は家畜にでさえも脚を広げるよ」っととんでもない屈辱的な発言をしていたそうです。「この放送局ではもうかけないよ〜」とも言ってたそうでこれを聞いていたリスナーとファンは怒りで震撼しそしてものすごい抗議の電話が殺到したそうです。また、中にはFCC（アメリカの連邦通信委員会）に告訴した人たちも何人かいたようで事態は深刻になり数日後このDJは放送中にMariahを侮辱した発言に対し陳謝したそうです。またこのDJに厳罰が下るよう検討中で番組降板か左遷を考えられているらしい。またこのラジオ局のエリアに住むファンの人たちは是非このラジオ局でILTのリクエストをして欲しいと思います。ここweb上ではリクエスト受け付けてないのが残念です。しかし、何とも胸糞悪いDJですね〜。久しぶりに頭にきました。

■ Mariah Talks About New Video

Mariah Carey is shooting the video for her new single, "It's Like That," this week with director Brett Ratner ("Rush Hour," "Red Dragon"). "I don't want to give it away yet," Carey told MTV Radio recently, "because you know how things change, but it's a Las Vegas casino scene. Brett is great at giving things a cinematic feel. We did the 'Heartbreaker' video together, and it had such a sense of humor to it, that I hope to have that for this video."

■ "Mimi" readies "celebratory" spring album

Pop diva Mariah Carey is set to return this spring with a dance-heavy R&B album, The Emancipation of Mimi. The record, which Carey calls "the real essence of who I am," was titled after the nickname used by those closest to her.

"'Mimi' is a nickname that my friends and loved ones call me, so I wanted to think about that and make it representative of where I'm at as an artist," explains Carey. "It was like, 'OK, this is the fun side, the real me, and not the image and the baggage that comes with the whole "Mariah Carey" thing.' It's a reflection of this being a celebratory moment in my life."

This optimism is in contrast to the drama the diva has experienced of late. While in the studio in November, Carey posted a note on her Web site, stating that for a period she had felt "imprisoned by my insecurities . . . For the first time in my life, I feel free and unashamed to be who I really am." When asked about these issues, Carey replies, "That's just how I've been since I was a child. I come from a bi-racial family, and I moved thirteen times when I was growing up. I had, you know, not the average childhood. Then certain relationships I was in were not that great for someone who does have insecurities . . . And it intensifies when you become famous and you're under a microscope."

The first, club-ready single off Emancipation, "It's Like That," was produced by longtime friend Jermaine Dupri. "I'm really excited about it -- Jermaine and I have such great chemistry in the studio," Carey says. "This song to me is a fun party record, like 'We're just going out, having a good time and not being stressed about anything.'"

The Neptunes' Pharrell Williams also helped set the upbeat tone. "It became like a party atmosphere: He was working with Snoop on his record in one room, and with Nelly in another, and then we all ended up collaborating together," says Carey. "I'd never worked with the Neptunes before, but I'd wanted to since they worked with Jay[-Z]. Then when other female artists worked with them, I was like, 'Now I won't be the first girl!' [laughs] It was a fun moment for us, to finally get in the studio and feel each others' vibe." Snoop and Carey were reunited for the first time since 1999's "Crybaby" (Rainbow), which the singer calls "one of my favorite songs."

In addition to the dance-friendly tracks, Emancipation brings the searching ballads that Carey is known for. "I love [the single] as a first look," she says, "but there are also songs with a little bit of meaning behind them." She dubs the "inspirational" record "Fly Like a Bird" the album's "most introspective moment, and the most powerful vocally and lyrically." The pastor from Carey's church, Pastor Clarence Keaton, actually speaks on the track. "So it's a really special song for me," she confesses. Carey also describes the process of recording these slower tracks as freer and "much more organic." "I went in with live musicians, and I sang the songs with the band: I would sing different guitar riffs with the guitar players," she explains, "and tell the horn players what I was hearing."

With more than a few young pop stars taking to lip-syncing these days, Carey's powerhouse voice puts all that "acid reflux" talk to shame. Performing regularly live, she claims, actually helped rather than hurt her vocals on the new record. "I went on tour [for 2002's Charmbracelet], and that got me in a great place vocally," Carey says. "I would do an entire show of my songs, which are really demanding, and then I would take two days off and sleep and rest and hang out -- that was excellent for my voice. So when I went back into the studio, I was able to experiment vocally and go back to singing in more of a belting register and a higher register -- and yet still do the breathy, soft things that I like."

A tour in support of Emancipation is in the works for this summer. But Carey worries about how to keep her fans happy. "I always want to make sure the fans are happy when they leave, and they've heard all their favorite songs," she admits. "And it's hard because I've had a lot of records! But I think once the fans get this album, they're going to want to hear the new songs."

Meanwhile, Carey is shooting the video for "It's Like That," directed by Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, Red Dragon), this week in Las Vegas. When asked if the honesty of Emancipation will call for more of a stripped-down look, Carey laughs. "I don't think people really want to watch a video of me looking how I look when I'm recording -- which is, like, boxer shorts, no makeup and a tank top," she says. "To me, videos are like dress-up moments. We all want to look good, you know."

LR: No problem. Your fans would love to know if you’re gonna have a meet and greet or any tour for the upcoming album?
MC: Yeah I gotta get the tour together but I have to figure out what I wanna do because there’s so many songs in the new album that I wanna do but uhm I always try to give the fans you know the older stuff too but it’s just that there are so many songs that are really like perfect for doing live from this album so… I gotta get it together. Figure it on out.

LR: Actually, you know what, it’s moved right? The album has moved on the…
MC: It’s on the 12th, April 12th.

LR: Instead of the 22nd. So excited about it definitely.
MC: Well you know what? They’re only moving it so that everybody can you know it’s gonna look like we have 19 songs, we have to narrow it down, and it’s really hard for us to pick and choose what we wanna keep, what we wanna not keep coz we’re all really attached. When I say "we" like the whole team that’s been working with me, L.A Reid and pretty much everybody I know that’s like been hearing the stuff. We’re like attached to all the songs in different ways but I can’t have 19 songs so you know we’re trying to just get it together.

LR: How special is this album compared to all the other albums you’ve had in the past?
MC: Well, I feel that it’s very special. I feel that it’s a really good step forward and I feel like you know I hope that the fans are really gonna like it. I think I have a good gauge on that but you know it’s really a fun moment for me and I think that everybody’s gonna feel that when they hear it.

LR: For sure. Definitely. Every song you have out here you know all this love from fans ... spread the lambs for that matter. I just wanna know, like you seem really, really happy and content so that really it shows so that’s great. If happiness could be measured on a 1 to 10 scale, what happy scale are you in at the moment?
MC: Well, actually like to be really honest, this particular moment, I’m just like ugh I’ve been doing interviews and I’m happy to be talking to the Lambs Radio. I wished I would have done the Lambs Radio first.

LR: I’d love for you to do that.
MC: I know but in general, I’m very happy Im just like you know I mean actually you don’t know because you don’t sit there and have people asking questions all day. But it’s cool. I’m happy because it’s a new project and I really want you know people to know about it and if all the people in the land that need to know about it. I’m happy to be talking to you so that you can communicate it on the Lambs Radio.

LR: Thank you so much. You know it’s 2005 and it’s a brand new year for you. It’s been a great start for you definitely, so does Mariah have any New Year’s resolution?
MC: Any New Year’s resolution? Just to make hot tamales!

LR: I just had that last week.
MC: What did you have last week? Tamale candies?

LR: No just the regular tamale thing like wrapped in that brown thing.
MC: You know I need to get that coz I keep on saying hot tamale but I never had one wrapped in a brown …

LR: It’s easy … if you happen to drop by in L.A. and if you like stop by the studio, will give you some hot tamales.
MC: I will, you know what? what if everybody’s started sending me hot tamales?

LR: I know, that will happen soon. Better watch out for that. Here’s a hypothetical question for you. I know you’ve had all questions regarding your new album and stuff. I’ll give you a magical question here. So let’s say you were brought inside a magical room, everything and anything is possible, you can go back to the future or go back to the past or like whatever you choose, can you describe what’s inside that room and who are the people in it or how would that room appear to you?
MC: My goodness… okay, Jack has to be there. We have to have water, haha. I don’t really know if it’s a room.

LR: It’s like a fantasyland.
MC: Okay so we open the door and the room is pink yet lavender. (laughs) it’s like a pink ceiling and lavender walls. And then it’s like open and it’s out to a sandy beach with crystal clear water and then I’ll just be in the ocean. I’m sorry I’m not that creative right now plus I’m like we’re like on the radio so that people that are not lambs can’t really get into to what I would really like I go on tangent with you guys.

LR: ... All lambs are listening to the show. So they would definitely relate to what you’re saying.
MC: I just… haha. You know what I’m saying. But, what else? That’s pretty good for them. They’re looking at me through the freaking door right now like you even know where I’m looking at. You’d be astonished but… By the way, everybody out there. I just wanna know. Have you seen the Elf? The movie Elf?

LR: No I have not. I need to watch that. Everybody says it's such a good movie but I have not.
MC: You have to see Elf, it’s really good and Mean Girls.

LR: I have watched Mean Girls, I was dragged by my niece to watch that.
MC: You didn’t like it?

LR: No I liked it. It was like I wasn’t gonna watch this movie, but I watched it and it was fun.
MC: Oh it's the best. You have to take it to the next level like to really appreciate it, it almost has to be like a cult moment, like you know it could be like The Rocky Horror Picture Show for you. You go everywhere and you can recite the whole thing.

LR: Now it’s like everybody would want to borrow that DVD for sure or buy it because you said it's good. Last question because I know you’re in a hurry.
MC: Yeah we gotta go. No go ahead.

LR: I hope I can have another interview with you
MC: Definitely, we have to set up an interview on a day when I don’t have to do fifty million other interviews so we can talk about fun stuff.

LR: If you have a special message for all your fans out there like how supportive they are, so excited with the new album.
MC: Yeah! Everybody out there that’s listening. You guys are the best and you definitely know, you have to know that I’m so grateful, like seriously I can’t even stress it enough because I know that everybody’s been requesting this song and so supportive and everybody out there should know we had an amazing day at radio today. And so everybody who’s been contributing to that, I thank you so much! Seriously, I can’t thank you enough.

LR: Thank you Mariah. I appreciate your time. I know you’re in a hurry but thank you so much.
MC: No, I feel so great that there’s a Lambs Radio. I love that. It’s great! So alright. They're yelling at me to go, the annoying man in the hat outside the door. Alright, annoying man, I’m coming. Lambs don't like you, annoying man in the hat.

近頃ラジオのインタビューに引っ張りだこで、しかもどれも結構長いインタビューなんで訳すのが結構大変だったり（苦笑）だいたい同じようなことを言ってるんですが、今日のこのラジオでは噂どおり１９曲ほどある中からアルバムに収録する歌をセレクトしているようなんですがやっぱりどれもいいらしく選ぶのが難しいみたい。あと、ツアーについても今回のアルバムからの歌もライブパフォーマンスにはもってこいの歌などがいろいろあるからやりたいけど、どういう風にするかなど具体的にいろいろと考えていきたいと言ってました。あとは...Ifトークがありましたね..もし自分がファンタジー・ランドみたいな部屋に連れて行かれたとして、誰を連れて行きそこはどんなところか？ってな質問でもちろんJackは居なきゃだめ。あと水もね（笑）部屋は天井から壁などすべてラベンダーに覆われピンク色らしく部屋の外には砂浜と綺麗な透き通った水があるそうです。....ふ〜ん。ってかこんなLambsRadioっていうラジオがあったことに私は一番驚いているのですが（笑）はじめHBFから何か新しいコンテンツができたのかと思いましたよ（笑）
