Celebrities and designers take a seat for -CHAIRS FOR CHARITY
Six celebrities and designers have taken a stand by participating in Minwax® CHAIRS FOR CHARITY, a design event and online auction to benefit Furnish a Future, a program of The Partnership for the Homeless. All six expressed their creativity by designing and decorating a chair in their own signature style using wood stains and finishes.
All of the participants donated their time and expertise to make the project a success, and from the look of the chairs, many of which are being finished to their specifications in the Minwax® design workshops, they expressed themselves with color and flair.

Renowned interior designer Mario Buatta designed this enchanting Balloon Chair for musical legend Mariah Carey. MiMiちゃんの自宅のデザイナーとしても有名なあのマリオ・ブッダ氏がチャリティーオークションの一環としてMiMi様をイメージしたMiMiチェアーを出品することになったみたいです。この椅子、とっても素晴らしいですね。王妃が座るようなバルーン型の椅子でマライアが大好きなラベンダーと蝶をあしらい、ラベンダーは竹の絵にうまいこと組みこめられ上品なデザインになっています。尚、このオークションは12月8日〜12月17日まで行われるそうです。

■ Two Albums From Mariah Carey in 2007
Universal Music Group Chief Executive Doug Morris said on Tuesday the world's largest music company will post its best ever revenue and profit in 2007 thanks to new releases from its top-selling artists.
Morris said Universal and other music companies are also starting to see new revenue streams from digital sources, including Apple's iTunes online music service and iPod digital media player, and mobile phone ringtones.
"I think that next year we're going to have our best year," he said at the Reuters Media Summit in New York. "I think our revenues and our profits will be the best we've ever had."
Morris said Universal Music, owned by French media giant Vivendi, will benefit hugely from new albums from Eminem, 50 Cent and two albums from Mariah Carey.

MiMiさんが来店してちょうど1ヶ月目の25日にやっとこさ、ぷれじでんとにお食事に行ってきました。マライアが直接オーダーしたわけではなくスタッフさんがセレクトしたものを食べたそうです。お好み焼きは食べず、上記の鉄板焼きOnlyだったそうです。MiMiさんは日本公演最終日を終え、夜中の12時頃に来店され、1時30分頃に皆を置いて先にお店を出たそうです。もちろん店は貸切ですが、初めは奥の方の席に座ってたそうですがココ、テーブル席がないのであちらこちらの鉄板カウンター席に座ってる皆のところへ行ったりして動き回りながらおしゃべりして楽しんでたそうです。服装は相変わらず胸が豪快に開いたSexyなドレスっぽい服を着てたそうです。MiMiさんは「Hello〜♪ニコっ」っと上機嫌でご来店されたそうで、スタッフさんに「英語が話せるシェフをお願いします」っと要望があったそうです。結局何も質問はされなかったそうですが。お肉ね....本当にマライアがいつも「ビーフ大好き！」って言うのがわかります（笑）まじ美味かったです。もし食べに行く機会があれば是非このマライアコースを皆さんも堪能してみてください。

■ MiMi's Van Cleef & Arpels Collection
ヴァンクリのHP見てたら結構MiMiさんがお持ちのモノがあったので取り上げてみました。この真ん中のG&Sのリング、TEOMのプロモ来日で付けててすごく可愛くてとっても気になってたんですが、これもヴァンクリだったんですね...。右の蝶はCBの時に付けてたネックレスと同じ種類のものですね。ちなみにあのプレゼントされた限定ペンダントはヴァンクリ創業開始の1906年に合わせて限定1906個のペンダントだったそうです。また、MiMiさんが買いあさってたあのアルハンブラシリーズの新作は10月過ぎからの販売だったそうなので、やっぱりMiMiさん欲しくて欲しくてたまんなくて日本へお買い物するのを楽しみに来たんだと思われます（笑）

マライア・キャリーが銀座でジュエリーをお買いもの！
最新作「MIMI」は05年のアメリカで最高のアルバム・セールスを記録し、グラミー賞では3冠を達成。デビュー16年目にしてなお絶好調のマライア・キャリーが、3年ぶりのツアーのために先頃来日を果たした。が、10月13日の夕刻に日本に到着するなり彼女がリムジンで向かったのは、ホテルではなく、なんと大好きなヴァン・クリーフ＆アーペルの銀座本店！長いフライトの疲れも見せずに、上機嫌でショッピングを満喫した。
そもそもマライアがヴァン・クリーフ＆ア−ペルに惚れこんだきっかけは、いつも彼女の指で輝いている、蝶を象った" オンヴォル リング" だったという。「確かパリのリッツに泊まっていたときで、並びにあったブティックのウィンドウで偶然リングを見かけてひと目惚れしたの。"絶対手に入れなくちゃ！"と思ったわ。以来3年半になるかしら？ジーンズにもドレスにも合うし、今ではすっかりワードロープの一部ね」。
なるほど、マライアは蝶を自分のシンボルにしているので納得できるエピソードなのだが、それが両者のおつき合いの始まり。以後、少しずつコレクションを増やしていったとか。
「多分わたしのジュエリー・コレクションの中でいちばん多いと思うわ。つまりいちばんお気に入りのブランドなの（笑）。何が素晴らしいって、クオリティと歴史の重みね。"高級"という言葉さえ控えめすぎるし、わたしにとっては世界最高よ」
そう絶賛する彼女は3日後のツアー初日、黒いビキニに購入したばかりの新作"マジック アルハンブラ"のロングネックレスをコーディネイトして、日本武道館のステージに登場。ちょっと他の人には真似できない大胆な装いで、あのマジカルな歌声を披露してくれたのだった。 （新谷 洋子）

約1時間あまりのショッピングで購入したのは、蝶のリングやアルハンブラシリーズ。またルビーをふんだんにあしらったフラワーモチーフのリングなど数点。ちなみに写真右下のアルハンブラのペンダント（創業100周年記念の個数限定ペンダント/ ￥283,500）は、ヴァン クリーフ＆アーペルからマライアにプレゼントしたそう。
はい、最新号のmarie claireのP.27でマライアのヴァンクリでのお話と簡単なインタビューが掲載されています。あの埼玉公演から付け出してたペンダントはヴァンクリからの贈り物だったんですね〜。マライアが買った総額からすれば消費税分ぐらいのささやかな「気持ち」分ぐらいなものでしょうね....。

■米ボランティア組織が主催する“Wish Icon Award”を授与
不治の病に冒された子供達の夢を叶える活動を行なっている米ボランティア組織『The Make-A-Wish Foundation』が主催する『第7回 Wish Night Awards Gala 2006』が、11月17日にロサンゼルスのBeverly Hills Hotelで開催され、マライア・キャリーが初の“Wish Icon Award”受賞者に選ばれました。この賞は、以前から同団体のボランティア活動に熱心に協力してきたマライアを称えるために授与されたもので、同団体によると、マライアは過去に20人以上の子供の夢を叶えたうえ、1000万円以上の寄付金を贈ったということです。

■ マライア・キャリー、音楽賞でまたしても無冠
米音楽賞「アメリカン・ミュージック・アワード」の授賞式が２１日にロサンゼルスで行われ、３部門でノミネートされた人気歌手マライア・キャリーは結局無冠に終わった。キャリーは昨年４部門にノミネートされながら１部門の受賞にとどまったほか、１９９７年にも６部門にノミネートされつつ無冠に終わるなど、商業的な成功が音楽賞になかなか結び付いていない。

■ Mariah honoree at next year's LIMHOF Induction Awards
Mariah is now officially listed on the LIMHOF site in the "2007 Inductees" section.
The Long Island Music Hall of Fame is dedicated to the idea that the Long Island musical heritage is an important resource to be celebrated and preserved for future generations. It is a place intended to inspire, in each person, the desire to explore and celebrate music in all its forms. It will be the home of Long Island’s musical history, and a starting point for its future, and a place where the music community will find the support, resources and leadership necessary to aid them in that exploration. The goal is to create an environment that inspires, entertains, educates, and engages every visitor in the creative process.
This first group of 50 inductees, which will be honoring over the course of the next two years, represents Long Island’s long and diverse contributions to the world’s musical landscape. The Long Island Music Hall of Fame has taken great care to celebrate within that "First 50" the Long Islanders who represent some of the extraordinary contributions Long Island has made to history of music, not only in America but throughout the world. It is our hope that these "First 50" will demonstrate that Long Island has been, and will continue to be, a consistent and never-ending wellspring of world class musical talent.
The Long Island Music Hall of Fame defines Long Island by it's four counties Queens, Kings(Brooklyn), Nassau and Suffolk!

■ Jack On MAD TV
Recently on Mad TV they had this "claymation short" called "celebrity pets."
And you see "Jack" infront of the shower and Mariah is supposedly in the shower and she is singing and Jack starts talking and this is what he says:
"Okay like here is the deal ... there are perks to being Mariah Carey’s Dog... I don’t have to fly first class with the other mutts, I fly in my own jet. I have my own dog walker, and I eat at the finest restaurants at the table ... on top of the table... often directly from Mariah’s mouth."
Jack is once again seen infront of the shower and Mariah is singing in the shower and hitting all these crazy high notes and he is like "Yeah you think I’d be used to this by now, but no! do you know how harsh this is to dogs ears!" and then Mariah hits this high note and he covers his ears and he is like "SON OF A BITCH" and blood flows from his ears.
アハハハッ！ついにJackもMAD TVに登場させられたようです。私この番組大好きなんですが、今回はJackは粘土のお人形さんで登場してるみたいでマライアが雨の中（TTRかな？）歌ってるところでJackがカメラに向かって語りだすそうで「僕は他のワンちゃんと一緒にファーストクラスに乗らないんだよ、だってPJがあるからそれに乗るんだも〜ん、ご飯は高級レストランで美味しいもの食べたりするし....」っといった感じ（笑）で、最後にマライアがハイノーツを出して歌うと、Jackが「この声がどれだけ犬の耳に苦痛を与えるかわかるかい？」っと言って耳を押さえるそうで、最後は鼓膜が破れてか耳から血を流してるそうです（爆）マジ早くみたい（笑）

■ Tidbit From Last Night
Crystal was lucky enough to meet Mariah last night and this is what she has to say:
Last night at the "Make A Wish Gala" we got to meet Mariah... she signed autographs, talked to us and gave hugs out!!!! I didn’t get any pictures because the security was really protective of Mariah... I asked her if she was gonna be at the AMA’s and she said no, she has to go back to New York to work on the DVD. It was such a great night!!! I can’t wait to do it again!!!
受賞式の夜、マライアに会って少しだけお話できたファンの人が皆が気になっていた今年のAMAの授賞式へ出席するかのどうか聞いてくれました。姫の答えは"NO"だったそうです。っというのも、何でもNYに戻ってツアーのDVDの編集をしなきゃいけないらしくとっととNYへ帰らなきゃいけないそうです。やった〜！いよいよDVDリリースにむけて最終段階に近づいてきた感じですね。本当はクリスマスプレゼントとして出して欲しかったけど、V.D.あたりに狙って出しそうですね（笑）DVDかぁ....よく考えたら８年ぶりぐらいになるのかな？

PerezHilton.com reader Michelle had a run-in with Mariah this past weekend.Our Miami homegirl sends in this picture of Mimi with her adorable son, Vincent, and writes about her encounter with the sometimes diva-ish star.
"Pee Pee- we decided to get out of Miami for the weekend and head up to Orlando to do a little Disney. After a 4 hour drive in hellish traffic, we get to the Disney Yacht Club & Hotel at 11 PM and who is walking out with her entourage of 20 guys? Miss. Mariah!
So I woke my son up out of his sleep for a picture of his life (hence the sleepy face.... but everyone loves a Latin boy, right?) So I ask her on her way out if I can take a pic of her and her 20 body guards jump immediately and scream "No, Miss Mariah isn’t taking any photos tonight!"
Expecting her to walk out behind them... she very SWEETLY stops... waits for my son and poses with him! She looked Flawless (and I usually think she’s a fatty) and was just too nice.
Her outfit & hair was for a 15 year old girl..but otherwise... she has a smokin’ bod. A natural woman... not too fatty... not too skinny... great legs.

先週末、マイアミからオーランドのディズニーヨットクラブへ子供をつれて遊びに行った人が、ちょうどそこで運良くマライアに遭遇したそうです。何でも20人ぐらいセキュリティやら関係者にガードされながら誰かがいること気づき、誰かと思ったらMiMiさんだったらしく、これは一生に一度あるかないかの幸運な事！是非自分の子供にこのチャンスを与えてあげたい！っという親心で寝てる子供を起こして、マライアの方へ近寄っていったそうです。が、先にセキュリティーに今日はマライアは一切写真には応じないからダメダメ！っと言われたそうですが、あきらめずにマライアの姿が見えるまで踏ん張ったみたいです。で、MiMiさんの姿が見えたとき声をかけると、MiMiさんはいつものようにニコヤカに来てくれたそうで、子供と一緒に写真まで撮ってくれたそうです。で、MiMiさんのこの日の服装は15歳の女の子が着るような格好をしてたそうで（爆）、皆が言うほど太ってるわけでもなく痩せ過ぎてるわけでもなくほど良い感じだったそうです。そして脚も本当に綺麗だったそうです。

■ ビックリ! エミネムはマライアの元彼だった
ラッパーのエミネムが先週、ポップ・アイコンのマライア・キャリーと過去に交際していたことを認めた。
エミネムは自身が主宰するシリウス・サテライト・ラジオ局、シェイド45で、「ああ、オレとマライアは6、7ヶ月に渡って交際していたよ。うまくいかなかったんだ」とコメント。「オレは彼女がはまっているものにそこまで興味がなかった。それにオレらの性格がぶつかってね。彼女はディーヴァで、オレはもう少しフツーなんだよね、たぶん」。

■ Director Daniels Is Out To Prove Mariah Can Act
Lee Daniels is gearing up to begin production on "Tennessee," which stars Mariah Carey. He says Carey, widely dissed for her work in "Glitter," is "a survivor" who is going to prove her critics wrong.
"The studios don't believe in her," says Daniels, who is producing the film. "They think I'm crazy for hiring her, but people said the same thing when I hired Halle Berry." Berry won an Academy Award for her role in "Monster's Ball," the first film Daniels produced.
マライアのツアーが終わったことで、いよいよ映画「テネシー」の撮影の準備にかかろうとしているリー・ダニエルズ監督ですが、このテネシーでマライアを起用するまでグリッターを見たことがなかった監督ですが、ちゃんとグリッターを見たそうで、ちゃんと演技できてると実感したそうで、自分がマライアを起用したことに間違いないと確信してるそうです。「スタジオの皆は僕がマライアを抜擢したことに信じられないみたいだね。皆はマライアを使うなんておかしいんじゃないか？って言うけど、僕が以前撮った「チョコレート」の時、ハル・ベリーを抜擢したらその時も皆、同じことを言ってたよ」っと皆が言うことなんてあてにならないっとおっしゃってました。ってかMiMiさん、映画にむけてダイエットはしてるんでしょうかね？頑張れ！

Carey is the entertainment at the fourth annual Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation gala. Jeter, who attends his manager's charity event every year, dated Carey briefly in 1998 until he broke it off.
Among those watching the potential fireworks will be emcee Bob Costas, lawyer Herb Nass, author of "Wills of the Rich & Famous," Ari Fleischer, White House press secretary under Bill Clinton, and Dan Scavino, Donald Trump's new golf czar.

日本公演の埼玉2日目の夜、楽屋へ招待され夢のような時間を過ごす事ができました。その時のレポまとめてみましたので興味ある方はご覧ください。皆で覚えてる記憶を何度も思い出して書いているのでかなり忠実な内容になってると思います。本当に長いので、とりあえず前半編をUPします。

■ Mariah to Perform at Joe Torre's Gala
Mariah is slated to perform at The Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation Gala honoring the 1996 World Champion New York Yankees on November 10th. The event is being held at Chelsea Piers and is being hosted by Bob Costas. Mariah is the only scheduled performer for the evening.
The event will be raising money for Margaret's Place. According to the invitation, "Margaret's Place is a comprehensive program which provides students with a safe room in school where they can meet with a professional counselor trained in domestic violence intervention and prevention."
今月の10日にNYで行われる家庭内暴力など児童虐待防止のチャリティーイベントにマライアが出席することが決定しました。そしてマライアは何かパフォーマンスするようです。10日ってことはもうそろそろ、暫しのヴァケーションを終えて再びNYに戻ってくるのですね....。

Even diva Mariah Carey is making her foray into pet fashion with Pup Star, a line of threads inspired by her beloved Jack Russell. Her camp’s being tight-lipped about the whole project, but we predict designs with lots of glitter.
はい、前にも少し話は出てましたがペット専用のJackのブランド設立に向けて話は進んでるようです。先日の日本公演でもマライア、「もうすぐJackのブランドが出来上がるから出来上がったら皆の可愛いPuppyにも着せてあげてね！」っと言っていろいろ宣伝してくれてましたが、会場の皆さん、おそらく何言ってるのかわかんない人が多かったのか無反応状態だったのでマライアも後半の公演では言わなくなってましたが（爆）楽しみですね〜、カタログとかJack本人が着てモデルになってたらいいのに♪

■ Mariah to Receive Inaugural Wish Icon Award
今月の17日にLAのビバリーヒルズホテルで行われる第7回「Make-A-Wish」授賞式でマライアがinaugural Wish Icon Awardを授与されるようです。Make-A-Wishとは3歳から18歳ぐらいまでの難病で闘病生活を送っている子供たちの夢を叶えようと努めているボランティア団体のことなんですが、これまでにマライアはこのMake-A-Wishに多大なる貢献をしてきましたね。確か、AMAだったかな？何かの授賞式で女の子2人を招待してあげて彼女たちに賞を捧げてましたね。久々の授賞式ドレスアップして綺麗な姿見せて欲しいですね。
