マライア・キャリーが文化の発展に貢献したとして全米レコード協会ニューヨーク支部から栄誉を称えられることが決まった。セレモニーは12月７日に行われる予定。彼女の他にジェイ・Z、ヨーコ・オノ、ジョン・レノン、ハワード・ショアらが選ばれている。過去に映画『Glitter』に出演した彼女だが、ハリウッドへの再進出について「そういうことになれば、すべてを話すわ（笑）」と先日のAP Televisionのインタヴューで語った。米メディアは彼女のインディ映画への出演の可能性を伝えている。

グラミー賞主催団体のNY支部から“2005 Recording Academy Honors”を授与
マライア・キャリーとジェイ・Zが、ナショナル・アカデミー・オブ・レコーディング・アーツ&サイエンス（グラミー賞の主催団体）のニューヨーク支部から、“2005 Recording Academy Honors”を授与されることになりました。この賞は、素晴らしい功績を残し、人間としても信頼できる、クリエイティヴ・コミュニティの環境向上に貢献したアーティストに贈られるもので、他にJohn LennonとYoko Onoなどの受賞も決定しています。授賞セレモニーは、12月7日にニューヨークのGotham Hallで開催されます。

■ 50, Mariah Lead Billboard Music Awards Finalists
50 Cent, Mariah Carey and Green Day are the top finalists for the 2005 Billboard Music Awards, which will be handed out Dec. 6 live on Fox from Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena. Rap legend LL Cool J will host the event, which will boast newly confirmed performances from Gwen Stefani and Daddy Yankee with Pharrell.
50 Cent is a finalist in eight categories, followed by Carey with seven and Green Day with six. All three will vie for artist of the year and album of the year for "The Massacre," "The Emancipation of Mimi" and "American Idiot," respectively. The other album of the year finalist is Eminem's "Encore," while Kelly Clarkson is the fourth artist of the year finalist.
The presenters' area onstage will resemble a cross between CNN's "The Situation Room" with Wolf Blitzer and the NASDAQ stock market, according to producer Paul Flattery. Screens behind this area will display Billboard charts from throughout the year for the award category being presented. Once the winner is announced, the year-end chart in that category will then be shown in select cases.

12月に開催される『Billboard Music Awards』のノミネートが発表され、50セントが最多となる８部門にノミネートされたと、Billboard.comが報じている。
50セントがノミネートされたのは年間最優秀アーティスト、年間最優秀アルバム、年間最優秀R&B/ヒップホップ・アルバム、年間最優秀R&B/ヒップホップ・アーティスト、年間最優秀ラップ・アーティスト、年間最優秀ラップ・アルバム、年間最優秀ラップ・ソング、年間最優秀リングトーン（着メロ）の８部門。さらにマライア・キャリーが７部門、グリーン・デイが６部門と続いている。
なお、『Billboard Music Awards』の授賞式は12月６日にラスベガスのMGMグランド・ガーデン・アリーナにて開催される予定で、L.L.クール・Jが司会を務め、グウェン・ステファニー、ダディ・ヤンキー、ファレル・ウィリアムスらがライヴ・パフォーマンスを行なうことも発表されている。

Mariah Carey will be meeting fans and signing copies of 'The Emancipation of Mimi - The Platinum Edition' CD at HMV, 150 Oxford Street, London on Sunday, December 4th at 12noon.
Access to the event will be strictly limited. The store will issue 350 wristbands on Friday, December 2nd from 8:30am with purchase of 'The Emancipation of Mimi - The Platinum Edition' CD.*
Please note that Mariah Carey will only sign 'The Emancipation of Mimi -The Platinum Edition' CD, one item only per person. There will no photographs allowed on the stage during the signing.

はい、ついに発売されました。帯がゴールドに変わってて少し豪華そうに見せてます（笑）US盤と内容がまったく一緒の為、日本盤を待つ意味がなかったのですが...まぁ日本盤の売り上げに貢献しないとね。今度のTEOMのウルトラプラチナ盤は２５分のロングインタビューがあるのでこれは字幕付きの日本盤買うのをお勧め。ネットでフルインタビューファイルが上がってたので見ましたけど前のWhat's It's Likeみたいな感じでした。で、話は戻りますが、昔から気になってたんですけど、AIWCIYのB&Wヴァージョンについて。マライア正面にして画面右側の少女役のダンサー。全体的にダンスの振り付け自体かなりハ〜ドで思わず笑っちゃうぐらいなんですが、今日一つ発見したことがあったのですが、最後のシーンをよく見て欲しいのですが、マライアを含め誰よりも先に演技をやめて踊り狂ってボサボサになった髪の毛をいじって「素」の人間になってるところが映ってるんですよ（笑）なんて個性が強い人なんだ〜！ってちょっとワタクシのツボにはまっちゃいました（笑）皆も是非見てみてね。

■ Mariah In Europe
As it now has been announced Mariah won't only be coming to Germany in December, but will connect her Europe trip with visits to England and France. As Mariah Connection "Bambi" has now informed them that Mariah will be attending the "Tribute to Bambi" on November 30. The show where Mariah will perform is open to the public. It's a charity event benefiting the children and youth center "The Arch" in Berlin, the official website of the event is tribute-to-bambi.de but Mariah isn't mentioned there yet. The Bambi award ceremony will take place on December 01.
Mariah will then do a signing session in London on December 04. The signing will probably take place in the HMV store in London, however there's no further information at the moment.
On December 16 and 17 Mariah will be in France. As of now there are no details about her visit but in France there's already a text message contest running, where the winner will be able to meet Mariah.
Here are more details on two of Mariah's TV appearances in the UK:
Today with Des and Mel
When: Monday - December 5th, 13:30 on ITV1.
Mariah Carey joins Des and Mel to perform a track from her new album before chatting with the presenters.
Parkinson
When: Saturday - December 10th, 21:40 on ITV1.
The recording of the show will take place on Tuesday, December 6th and will be aired on Saturday, December 10th.
As it currently stands, the show is to be dedicated completely to her. Mariah is rumored to be performing two songs: her latest single "Don't Forget About Us," and an album track, "Circles".
Producers at Parkinson are in talks with Mariah's management about postponing the airing of the show until Christmas eve. There are hopes for Mariah to perform "Don't Forget About Us" and one track from "Merry Christmas" (possibly "Hark, The Herald Angels Sing.")
Extra Appearances
Mariah will tape performances for both CD:UK and Top of the Pops. Airing dates are yet to be determined.
お姫様の今月末からのスケジュールがだいたい出てきました。やはりドイツのBambi賞に出席するようで前日の11月30日からドイツ入りするそうです。まだ確定ではありませんがBambi賞ではパフォーマンスも今のところ予定されているようです。そして翌日の２日から６日までUKへプロモーションへ。５日と６日にTV番組用のビデオ撮りが行われるようですが、パーキンソンではDFAUとそしてCirclesの２曲を歌うだろうと噂されているようです。この番組の放送は１０日に流れる予定ですがプロデューサーがクリスマス・イブに放送をもっていきたいそうで今、協議中のようです。メリークリスマスから一曲HTTASを歌うかもしれないそうです。また恒例のTOTPやUD:UKのビデオ撮りもあるようです。そして少し１週間ほど後に次はフランスへ訪問する予定のようです。う〜ん...ってことは、６日のビルボードアウォードには出席しないんでしょうか？それともトンボ帰りで間に合わせるのかな？１週間の空白はUSかな？しかし相変わらずハードスケジュールですね。

As previously reported, Island Def Jam postponed the digital release of "The Emancipation of Mimi" to late December. Further information reveals that "Don't Forget About Us" is scheduled to be digitally released on December 20th (and could be pushed forward to December 13th.)
The new Jermaine Dupri remix will be sent out to radio stations as early as next week, and will be available for digital downloading in December as well.

We just got back from Detroit. Thanksgivingの夜、新しいボイスメッセージが入りました。まずはじめに、先日のAMAでの衣装とイヤホンのトラブルについてお話していました。ステージを降りてすぐに衣装替えして、ドキドキしていた時にすぐにR&B最優秀女性アーティストの受賞でスピーチっということで、スピーチの冒頭でも初めのトラブルのことなどいろいろ話してて、かなり動揺していてファンの皆にちゃんとお礼を言えなくて申し訳なかったっと言ってました。あと、ThanksgivingのNFLのハーフタイムショウの後、仲の良い友達らと楽しく食事したそうです。また最後に今年は自分の生涯の中で一番良い年だわっと言ってました。本当に今年はお姫様の実力が存分に発揮できた一年でしたね。

はい、NFLのThanksgivingのイベントとしてデトロイトライオンズのハーフタイムショウでパフォーマンスしたお姫様。チームカラーと意識してMCマイク&MCユニフォームでキメてました。SIOの登場ではちょっと映画のドラムラインが頭に過ぎりましたが、なかなか可愛くてSIOのマーチになってて可愛かったと思います。DFAUの終盤、ステージ下からのカメラ撮り、あれどうなんでしょうか？いろんな意味も含めて下から撮るのやめて欲しいんですが（苦笑）あと、あのアディダスのソックスにスニーカー仕立てのヒールを履くマライアしかやらないだろぅスタイルを見れて嬉しかったです（笑）また後日雑誌で取り上げられるんじゃないでしょうかね。先日のAMAでは渋滞に巻き込まれて会場入りしたのがほんとギリギリだったらしく衣装も完成してないし姫はバスローブを着て待ってたらしいのですが「最悪私はバスローブを着てステージにあがるところだったわ（苦笑）」って言ってましたが、今回は何事もトラブルはなかったようでよかったです。ただ、最後の「Happy Thanksgiving!」の生声がすんごい風引いたようなハスキー声でしたが大丈夫でしょうかね。

Pop diva Mariah Carey is rumoured of getting married with her secret boyfriend, a music exec, who helped her with her comeback during the past years.
Carey’s fourteenth album, "The Emancipation of Mimi", was released in 2005 and debuted at number one in the U.S. with the highest first week sales of Carey’s career, and remained in the top five of the Billboard 200 album chart for twenty-one weeks.
The single "It’s Like That", which preceded the album, reached the top twenty, while "We Belong Together" (Carey’s first U.S. number-one single in five years) became her biggest hit, reaching number one in several countries and being named the world’s most-played single of the year by the World Music Awards.

今週はウルトラプラチナ盤のおかげでTEOMは４位まで返り咲きしました。DFAUは今週デジタルチャートで９７位にデビューしたようでエアプレイポイントは４位まで上昇してるのですがデジタルがちょっと足を引っ張ってる感じですね..まぁ今週はAMAとNFLの２大イベントでDFAUのプロモしましたので引き続きエアプレイは上昇するでしょうし、デジタルも少しは成績よくなるんじゃないでしょうかね。

Renewed TV advertising in support of The Emancipation Of Mimi album - which was released in two new editions last week - and rapidly increasing radio, TV and club exposure for upcoming single Don’t Forget About Us, help Mariah Carey’s latest album jump 47-34, with sales up 104% to 17,299 - its highest level for 17 weeks. The album has now sold 424,896 copies, but is still playing a support role to Carey’s 2001 Greatest Hits album, which slips 13-16 this week, despite selling 32,817 copies - the highest weekly tally of its career. Greatest Hits’ cumulative sales are now 323,190.

Congratulations Mimi :D お姫様のDFAUで幕を開けた今年のAMAでしたが、お姫様は５部門中１部門R&B最優秀女性アーティストを見事に受賞されました。喜ばしいことですが、２個は最低獲ると思ってましたのでちょっと意外で残念でもありました。パフォーマンス自体が初となるDFAUでしたが、衣装が完全に縫われていなかったり、初っ端からイヤホンが聞こえないという最悪の状態に陥りながらもプロ根性で最後まで見事なパフォーマンスで歌いきってくれました。さすがですね、あっぱれです！受賞スピーチでは黒の胸元パックリ系のドレスを久々に着てましたがかなり綺麗でしたね〜。なんか「スター」のオーラを改めて感じた一日でした。

“ウルトラ・プラチナ・エディション”と題された、大ヒット・アルバム『MIMI』の再リリース盤について話していたマライア・キャリーは、タイトルを口にした後、何気ない素振りでリリース日を宣伝した（現地時間の15日に発売）。先日開催されたVIBEアワードで、多くのラッパーが宣伝活動しているのを耳にしたのだろう。「ラッパーはやっているのに、どうして私はダメなの？」と彼女は尋ねた。
『MIMI』が成功をおさめた後、最近のマライアは、大体何でも好きなことをできる状態だ。問題は、次に何をやるかということ。4月にアルバムがリリースされてから、休むことなくアルバムのプロモーションを行ってきた彼女は、「何はさておき、お休みを取るつもりよ」と明言した。「お休みのことを考えるとたまらなくワクワクするわ。私はお祭り騒ぎの女王だけど、自分が次にどういった方向性で行くのかを決めないとね」。
『MIMI』に続く作品をどういった方向性にしようか検討している一方で、マライアは少なくとももう1本ミュージック・ビデオを制作して、“ウルトラ・プラチナ・エディション”をプロモーションする予定だ（どの曲がビデオ化されるかについては口を閉ざした）。今のところ、彼女は引き続き全米のラジオで人気の「Don’t Forget About Us」のヒットを楽しんでいる。この曲こそが、彼女がアルバムを再リリースしようと思った理由なのだ。
「「Don't Forget About Us」は、ジャーメイン（・デュプリ）と私が書き始めて、書き終えないままになっていた曲。それをL.A.リードが聴いて、興奮して『アルバムをもう一度リリースするべきだよ』って言い出したの」とマライアは振り返った。「ハッピーだわ。だって、新しくもう一本ビデオを作って、他にも何本かビデオを作って、その上、さらにエキサイティングなコラボレーションが待ち構えているんですもの。素敵なことだし、私のファンには本当に感謝しているわ。…それって、私の人生において変わらないテーマみたいなものなの」。
「Don't Forget About Us」の他にも、“ウルトラ・プラチナ・エディション”には未発表曲が収録されている。「So Lonely (One and Only Part 2)」、ジェイダキスをフィーチャーした「We Belong Together」のリミックス・バージョン、それにジャーメイン・デュプリをフィーチャーした「Making It Last All Night (What It Do)」の3曲だ。
再リリース盤には「Don't Forget About Us」のビデオのダウンロード・サイトへのリンクも含まれている。この曲のビデオでマライアは、ポール・ハンターと再度タッグを組んだ。ハンターはマライアがこれまでで一番気に入っている「Honey」のビデオを手掛けたディレクターだ。「あの曲はMTVアワードを受賞してもおかしくなかったわ。それがお約束でもあるかのように、私は落選だったけどね」と、今年のMTVビデオ・ミュージック・アワードでも受賞を逃したマライアは不平を口にした。「だけど、彼と一緒にまた仕事ができて嬉しかったわ。だって、私は「Honey」をリリースして以降、当時の輝きを取り戻そうとしてきたんですもの。この曲はそういうセンチメンタルな思いを秘めた、単なる美しい曲、という以上の存在なの。いずれにしても、ポールともう一度仕事ができで嬉しかった」。
マライアは「Don't Forget About Us」を普遍的なラブソングだと語り、あまり多くを口にしなかった。「あまり具体的な話をし過ぎないようにして、曲を聞いた人たちが歌詞に自分たち自身を投影できるようにしているの」と彼女は説明してくれた。「子供の頃、ラジオで曲を聴くと、ある特定の人物や、その時の状況を思い出していたの。その頃の思いと曲がぴったりと結ばれるのがよかった。でも誰かが曲について説明して、それが私の考えとまったく違うと、台無しになっていたわ。だから私はみんなの想像に任せられるよう、曲についてはオープンな状態にしておきたいの」。

The pictures above are from a "Grammy SoundCheck" event with Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson that was held on November 18, 2005, at the Center Staging Musical Productions in Burbank, California.
This event was a part of the Grammy Foundation's "Grammy SoundCheck Series" where young adults and teenagers meet with successful artists in order to study more about the music industry. The music students are given the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with the artist in addition to experiencing the live soundcheck.

Generous Mariah Carey said thank you to US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres in style on her daily show yesterday by giving her a white Dolce & Gabbana suit. Carey claimed she was inspired to smarten up her image after wearing a suit Ellen loaned her the last time she appeared on her show and wanted to repay her for her kindness.
The singer asked to borrow a black suit from the comedienne's backstage racks when she arrived for her show without the outfit she planned to wear and DeGeneres made her a gift of the jacket and trousers. Grateful Mariah made sure Ellen's generosity was rewarded yesterday when she presented the host with a brand new D+G suit design that has yet to hit the fashion house's stores.
Thrilled DeGeneres said, "I love this. I'm keeping it on, I'm keeping the tags on too because that's cool... Thank you so much, that's sweet."
DeGeneres had a surprise in store for her guest - she invited a group of Los Angeles foster children who have adopted Carey as their living saint onto the show. The singer was scheduled to meet with the children at a special party recently but had to cancel at the last minute to head off on a press tour of Japan.

While some stars endure plastic body improvements, others prefer to be immortalised in plastic. And now another celeb has signed their name on the doll-making dotted line - Mariah Carey. The singer, who is currently enjoying a massively succesful comeback in her career, has revealed a set of dolls will be made in her likeness.
But fans might struggle to get their paws on one - they are strictly limited edition, as an insider told the Daily Mirror: "There'll only be 3,000 of them and while they're supposed to be for kids, they're likely to become an instant collectors' item." Quite.

■ Mariah Carey Plans To Make At Least One More Mimi Video
このプラチナ盤の新曲の中からDFAUに続いてもう一曲何かPVを作る予定だそうです。で、次に何をしたいか？って質問に「少しゆっくりと休みたいわ、ホリデーがとっても楽しみ！」っと言ってます。まぁクリスマスまであと一ヶ月ほどですから今年最後のお仕事を終えたらまたジャスミンさんたちと遊びにいくんでしょうね.

■ A triumphant Mariah Carey returns to Hollywood
はい、おとといのストア・イベントの写真がUPされました。おぉ〜なんかまたデカくなってるのは気のせいでしょうか...（汗）このストアイベントは夜７時からだったのですが寒空の下、ファンの人たちは長蛇の列を作ってお姫様が到着するのを待っていました。この様子はMariahDailyでUPされてるのでビデオ見てみてください。結構面白いですよ、いつもの常連顔をチラホラいてるし（笑）で、結局CD買った人先着４００名がサインしてもらえることになったようです。Glitter以来久々にハリウッドに戻ってきたお姫様、またVirginという因縁絡みの場所で見事戻ってきましたね。「私のそばにはいつも私を支えてくれるファンの皆がいたわ」っとコメント。短い時間ではありましたがファンの皆にあって曲の感想を聞けたりいろいろ刺激も受けて楽しい時間をすごしたようです。また、映画に出るか出ないかの話もでているようです。

■ NFLデトロイト・ライオンズ戦でのハーフタイム・パフォーマンスが決定
11月24日にデトロイトのFord Fieldで開催されるNFLのデトロイト・ライオンズvsアトランタ・ファルコンズ戦で、マライア・キャリーが、感謝祭のスペシャル・ハーフタイム・パフォーマンスを行なうことに決定しました。当日彼女は2曲のパフォーマンスを行なう模様です。感謝祭の休暇期間中に開催されるこの試合は、FOXテレビを通じて全米に生中継される予定になっています。

■『Vibe Awards』授賞式報告。マライアが最多4部門で受賞
アメリカのR&B／ヒップホップ系雑誌『Vibe』が主催する『第3回 Vibe Awards』の授賞式で、マライア・キャリーが最多4部門を受賞しました。11月12日にロサンゼルス郊外カルヴァー・シティのSony Studiosで行なわれた授賞式では、他にカニエ・ウェスト、ザ・ゲーム、ダミアン“ジュニア・ゴング”マーリーが各賞を受賞。そして、メアリー・J.ブライジには“VLegend Award（功労賞）”が授与されました。
受賞直後にマライアは、「人生で何が起きても、決してあきらめないで」と語りました。また、15年間にわたり音楽界に貢献してきたメアリーは、Quincy Jonesから“VLegend Award”を授与された後に「不死鳥のように、私は強く生きているし、自殺もしていないわ」とコメント。そして、現在34歳の彼女は、「この賞の受賞は少し早いわ。功労賞を受賞するのは60歳くらいの人だと思っていたから」とも語りました。この模様は米UPNを通じて11月15日に放映されました。

■ VIBEアワード発表！マライア4冠、メアリーJが功労賞に
真剣な話、もう“カムバック”と言うべきではないだろう。「LLクールJの不朽の言葉どおり、“私は何年もここにいる”の」――現地時間の土曜、VIBEアワードのバックステージで、マライア・キャリーはそう語った。この日、マライアは4つのトロフィーを獲得。うち1つは、『Glitter』（2001）と『Charmbracelet』（2002）というぱっとしない2枚のアルバムに続いてリリースされた、『MIMI』への最優秀アルバム賞だった。「私のことを“カムバック”って言いたいなら構わないけど、私は人生を通して音楽作りをしてきたのよ。歌を始めたのは4歳の時。音楽作りは永遠に続けるわ。それが私のすべきことだから」。
ほかにも最優秀アーティスト賞、最優秀R&Bヴォーカル賞、最優秀R&B楽曲賞（「We Belong Together」）を受賞したマライアは、唯一複数の部門を制覇したウィナーとなった。しかし彼女は、自身の栄誉を喜ぶだけではなく、「V Legend Award」という名の功労賞を受賞した別のR&Bシンガーについても同じくらい喜んでいた。「トレーラーでメイク直しをしてもらっていたのだけど――かなり必要だったからね、でも、メアリーだけは見逃すまいと会場に戻ったの」とマライアは同賞を受賞したメアリー・J.ブライジについて述べた。「彼女が功労賞を受賞したことは本当に嬉しいし、彼女を誇りに思うわ。だって彼女は誠実な人であり、真なるアーティストだから」。

その他にもカニエ・ウェストが最優秀ラッパー賞を受賞した他、T.I.が2年連続でストリート・アンセム賞に輝いた。また、リュダクリスとシアラは「Oh」で最優秀コラボ賞を獲得した。
はい、Vibe４冠でどこもかしこもMariahの取り上げがすごいですね〜。MTVでも少し裏話があったので取り上げました。今年の功労賞を受賞したメアリー姐さんの受賞スピーチを見るために入念にメイクしているトレーラーからまた会場に足を運んだって言ってたところが普通の女の子みたいでかわいいなぁ〜って思いました（笑）別に泣いてたわけでもないのにメイク直しがかなり必要ってすごいですね（爆）あと、「私のことを『復活』って言いたいなら構わないけど...」ってとこもカッコいいな。私も「復活」って言われるたびにピキ〜ンってきてたんですが姫の言葉で、もうどうでもいいやって思えました。ファンがわかっていればいいんですよね。

■ Mariah Carey to Perform at Lions' Halftime
Mariah Carey will perform two songs at halftime at the nationally televised Thanksgiving Day game between the Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Falcons. Toni Braxton will sing the national anthem.
The show also will feature a 90-second introduction narrated by Morgan Freeman that was produced by NFL Films. It features players volunteering in their communities with other residents, the Lions said Monday.
The Lions' 66th Thanksgiving Day Classic against Atlanta on Nov. 24 will air on the Fox network (12:30 p.m. EST).
先日もお伝えしたようにThanksgivingにNFLのハーフタイムショウでお姫様がパフォーマンスするのが決まりましたが、どうやらお姫様は2曲パフォーマンスするようです。まだ何をするのか決まってませんが楽しみですね。ちなみに国歌斉唱はトニー・ブラクストンが歌うそうです。

■ About The Ultra Platinum Edition Of Interview
As most of you are aware the DVD on the Ultra Platinum Edition of "The Emancipation of Mimi" contains a link to an interview. The interview itself contains clips of Mariah in Paris and on her plane talking about random things, such as Jack.
Mariah states it’s September, so the interview is relatively recent.
ウルトラ・プラチナ盤についてるDVDのインタビューは9月頃にパリで撮ったものらしく比較的まだ新しいものだそうです。内容はJackの例の飛行機の話などランダムでいろいろ入ってるそうです。

11月12日に発表された第３回Vibe Awardsで、マライア・キャリーが最多の４部門で栄冠を手にした。彼女は最優秀アルバム、最優秀R&Bボイスを受賞したほか、シングル「We Belong Together」が最優秀R＆Bソングに、新作『The Emancipation of Mimi』が最優秀アルバムにそれぞれ輝いた。
今年４月に発表された『The Emancipation of Mimi』で完全復活を遂げた彼女は「人生で何があっても、あきらめないこと」と語った。
