昨夜行われたBET Awardsですが早速ファイルがアップされてますのでご覧ください。WBTをアカペラ・オーケストラでパフォーマンスしたお姫様。カリビアン・ナイトなセットで白い貝殻を感じさせる衣装でちょっと不思議？なアカペラで熱唱しました。特に終盤の夜明け頃のとこらへんは左手が壊れたロボットのようにカクカク激しく動いていたのが印象的でした（笑）ノミネートされていた最優秀女性R&B部門はアリシアが受賞しお姫様は残念ながら獲得できませんでした。まぁ来年だぁ〜ね。

■ Mariah Schedules Performance In Holland

new addition to Mariah's busy July schedule has been announced today:

Mariah will visit Holland on July 17th to perform on a Dutch lottery show called "Staatsloterij". The performance will take place outdoors, on a stage above water in Amsterdam.

The visit in Holland joins recently announced European promotional stops in England, Germany and Denmark.

This week, "We Belong Together" enters the Dutch Top 40 at #10, making it Mariah's 15th top 10 hit in Holland and the first one from "The Emancipation of Mimi". The song entered the "Mega top 50" at #42 last week and is expected to rise this week. On the airplay charts, "We Belong Together" makes a huge leap from #56 to #7.

EMI has obtain the distribution rights of the DVD of the Live 8 concerts which will take place on July the 2nd. in the UK, Canada, USA, France, Germany and Italy. They obtained the distribution rights in exchange of money for the cause. EMI expects to release the Live 8 concerts on DVD in November.

Curvaceous singer MARIAH CAREY is on a strict diet in a bid to wow the crowds at this Saturday's (02JUL05) Live 8 concert in London.

The HEARTBREAKER hitmaker, who is enjoying a career resurgence with her hit album THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI, will join MADONNA, PINK FLOYD, SIR ELTON JOHN, ROBBIE WILLIAMS, SIR PAUL McCARTNEY, STING and U2, among others, at the concert in Hyde Park.

Carey enthuses, "This is such a special event for me. I want to sing my best and look my best.

"I've been working on my voice to make sure it's in top condition and working on my body too. I've been dieting and exercising non-stop so I can get into the outfit I want to wear."

NEW YORK — When Martha Stewart, Lindsay Lohan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tom Cruise and Alicia Keys crave a little Far East culinary action, they hit Megu, downtown Manhattan's ultra-posh Japanese eatery.
The restaurant, open since March, has become one of Manhattan's hottest destinations. Here, the portions are small and the prices are large: sushi and sashimi can set you back $80, small plates run $12-$45 and entrees cost $16-$180. (Yes, that's $180 for Kobe beef with sesame and grated ginger in soy butter.) But the stars keep on coming. Megu is "elegant and cool," says Keys, who loves "the vibe" so much she celebrated her 24th birthday there.

She discovered Megu after doing a photo shoot there and loved it because it was "one of the most unique restaurant environments I had been in."

The two-story, 13,000-square-foot space has an upstairs bar, a private lounge for 12 guests, a sushi bar that seats 14 and a downstairs dining room that fits 200. The décor? Exotically modern, with white leather couches in the bar and vintage kimono fabric covering the walls. A Buddha ice sculpture presides over the downstairs dining room.

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey and friends feasted on Caesar salad, asparagus, Kobe beef skewers, sushi and edamame. Cruise, who was there with pals Will and Jada Pinkett Smith and Collateral co-star Jamie Foxx, enjoyed the Kobe beef Chateaubriand and oysters. And songbird Mariah Carey and pals dined on sashimi, edamame, tomato bacon skewers and cod.

日本食を贔屓のお姫様ですが、近頃家の近くにあるトライベッカのMegu（日本食レストラン）で友達とお食事しているのを目撃されているようです。お姫様は刺身、枝豆、鱈とその上に飾られたベーコンとトマトが刺さった串焼きなどを食べていたそうです。このMeguについては青字のMeguをクリックすると店の内装など見れますのでご覧ください。なんか「やっちまいな〜！」って感じの雰囲気をも醸し出してますが（笑）店内に飾られてる釣鐘の下の氷の仏像は何でも毎日彫られてるらしいですよ...８０ヘェ~。

■ Mariah In London: Information

Mariah will visit London this week to promote "We Belong Together" released on 4 July and to perform at the London Live 8 concert.

Thursday 30 June
Mariah is scheduled to arrive in London Thursday afternoon. She will be staying at the Sanderson hotel (click here for location details). Come and give Mariah a warm welcome to London! Mariah will arrive at the Sanderson sometime around 4:00pm.

Friday 1 July
Mariah will have a day off to rest before her performance at Live 8.

Saturday 2 July
Mariah is scheduled to go on stage at Live 8 in Hyde Park at 7:00pm.

Sunday 3 July
Mariah will spend the day doing promotional work inside the hotel (interviews, photoshoots etc).

Monday 4 July
Mariah will visit several radio stations during the day. She will then appear on the Richard & Judy show and TRL. The Applause Store is responsible for ticket allocations to TRL. You need to be registered with their website. Tickets for next week's shows will be available at the end of the week.

■ Mariah Tapes 4th Of July Special

Fans and friends gathered at Chelsea Piers (located at 23rd Street & the Hudson River) in New York last night for a one of a kind Mariah experience.

After gathering at the location, all the guests boarded a luxurious yacht by 8:30 PM. Around 9:00 PM, Mariah has arrived with her crew and with her friend Da Brat. The yacht stopped at various places in New York City in which Mariah performed.

Mariah performed "America The Beautiful" in a long blue sequenced gown in front of the Statue of Liberty. She then did "We Belong Together" in a short red mini dress in front of what used to be the World Trade Center. Then, in front of a backdrop of the bridges, she performed "It's Like That" with a special intro, wearing a white skirt and top with diamond buttons. It was sailor suit inspired. "America The Beautiful" and "It's Like That" were each recorded twice whereas "We Belong Together" was shot 4 times: once with dancers, twice without them and once for the helicopter shots.

All the songs were pre-recorded a couple of nights ago so that Mariah could sing to those versions on the yacht. The director of the event insisted Mariah performed the songs to backing tracks instead of singing them live.

The performances will be aired as a part of a 1 hour NBC special on 4th of July at 9:00 PM EST.

あっ、やっぱり生じゃなかったんですね〜。NBCの独立記念日のTV撮りが終わったようです。撮影するにあたり場所移動の為に豪華なヨットでNYを回ったようですが、ダ・ブラットも一緒だったようです。まずお姫様は自由の女神をバックに青いロングドレスを着て「America The Beautiful」を歌い、次に以前WTCあった前で赤いミニドレスを着てWBTを熱唱。そしてハドソン川の橋を背景にダイヤのボタンが付いたセーラー服に白いスカートを履いてILTを歌ったようです。ATBとILTは2回撮り直しし、WBTはダンサーやヘリコプターなどのショットで4回撮ったようです。すごいですね〜絵に描いたようなまさにU.S.A.な演出ですね。想像するだけでかなりワクワクしてきます。特に自由の女神バックにATBのパフォーマンス、すっごい楽しみです。これって誰もが一度は見たかったパフォーマンスじゃないでしょうか？セーラー服ってあのRainbow TourのHoneyで着ていたようなあの水兵さんみたいなのかな〜。可愛いな。あと1週間長いな〜（苦笑）

■ Extraordinary Concert with Mariah Carey in Tivoli

Tivoli has managed getting the American singer and superstar Mariah Carey to play a unique concert at "Plænen" in Tivoli on Monday, July 11th, 2005. This marks the first time that Mariah Carey has ever set foot on Danish soil. There aren't many chances to see the superstar live in Europe this summer, aside from the Tivoli concert, she will only be performing at Live 8 in London and in Germany. Mariah Carey currently tops the American singles chart with "We Belong Together".

The 35-year-old star debuted in 1990 with the album 'Mariah Carey' and has since sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, not least because of the albums 'Emotions', 'Music Box' and 'Daydream'. The huge success has secured her two Grammys, eight American Music Awards and 16 #1 singles on the American singles chart, a feat only topped by Elvis and The Beatles. This makes her the best-selling and most successful female artist of all time.

In April, Mariah Carey released her 10th studio album, 'The Emancipation Of Mimi', which is a colourful mix of Pop, Hip-Hop and R&B. The album was produced and written by Carey herself along with some of the hottest producers around, including The Neptunes, Jermaine Dupri and J. Austin. The album has spawned the hit single "We Belong Together", which is currently one of the most played songs in America.

The concert will take place on July 11th at 10pm and admission will be free for visitors to the amusement park.


Tivoli is one of the oldest amusement parks in the world and is Copenhagen’s most visited and famous tourist attraction. It is also renowned for its huge rock/pop concerts, and Mariah playing there is the scoop of the century!

Mariah’s performance will be free for all those who attend the amusement park that day. Just to clarify, that means that you just have to pay the normal entrance fee of 68 DKK for adults or 34 DKK for children.

■ 2pac talked about Mariah in 1991

Davey D interviewed 2pac back in 1991, he wanted to use it later but misplaced the tape. A few months ago, while searching in old tapes, he came across a tape that had an old interview he did with Shock G. he flipped to the b-side, and to his surprise he discovered the missing 2Pac interview from 1991.

Here's the excerpt were 2pac talks about Mariah:

"" 2pac: We have to let the new groups come out. Nobody wants to give the new acts a chance. Everybody wants to only talk about Too Short and Digital Underground. We have to start talking about these other groups that are trying to come in that are coming up from the bottom.

Davey D: When you say “come up,” what do you mean by that?

2Pac: It’s like this. Instead of letting them do interviews where nobody ever reads them, let a good newspaper interview them. Instead of putting them on the radio when nobody is ever going to hear them or where nobody is going to hear them, have them where people can hear them and get at them where they had a better chance, just like if they were Mariah Carey."

故２Pacが91年に受けたインタビューが出てきたようでその中にMariahについてのコメントがあったようです。今となればHIPHOPもチャートの王道にまで上がってますがこの時代はまだHIPHOPが認められる前の頃で、２Pacは一つの形にとらわれず新しい音楽を作り出していきたいと語っており、Mariahと組んでみたいと言ってたようです。姫も2Pac聞いたりしてて好きだったし2Pacが生きていたら絶対姫も一緒に何かコラボしてただろうし是非やって欲しかったですね...。

■ マライア・キャリーは独立記念日も熱唱

マライア・キャリーが、米大手デパート、メイシーズ主催の独立記念日の花火ショーに、唯一のパフォーマーとして契約を結んだ。毎年恒例のこのショーは、現地時間の7月4日に米NBC放送が全米に向けて生中継する。1時間の特別番組として東部標準時間の午後9時にスタートし、ハイディフィニションで放送されるとのこと。

MARIAH SHATTERS BDS 1-WEEK HOT 100 AUDIENCE RECORD WITH 202.1 MILLION LISTENERS FOR "WE BELONG TOGETHER"!

The sky's the limit for performer and songwriter Mariah Carey - who has become the first artist to break the 200 million one-week BDS Hot 100 audience barrier with We Belong Together (with 202.1 million listens), breaking her own BDS Hot 100 audience record (of 192.3 million, two weeks ago), it was announced today by Antonio "L.A." We Belong Together, shattered yet another record as the single gathered the largest one-day audience total ever in BDS history yesterday - 32.8 million. ■ Mariah At No.4

According to Hits Daily Double, Coldplay remains at number 1. This is not a surprise. The big surprise is that the Foo Fighters will debut at number 2 and the Backstreet Boys at number 3. Heading into the weekend, the forecast was that the Backstreet Boys would debut at number 2 or even higher.
Mariah is up to number 4, selling 163,882 copies. This is an increase of 8%. It was expected Mariah would only sell between 145,000 to 155,000 copies this week. Last week's number 2, the Black Eyes Peas, are now at number 5. Fat Joe debuts at number 6 and the White Stripes drop 8 places to number 11.
Although the official sales for the album will be determined by SoundScan, Hits Daily Double is regarded to as a good and almost accurate measurement. The SoundScan figures apply to the Billboard charts and will be released later this week.

■ Weekly Soundscan Numbers For Mariah

--Mariah's album "The Emancipation of Mimi" crosses the 2 million copies mark this week as it sells 163,295 copies (8% increase from last week) for a total of 2,036,870. The album rises to #4 in its 10th week on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

--"We Belong Together" rises a spot to #2 on the Hot Digital Sales with 43,970 downloads this week (27% increase from last week.) Total downloads: 283,933.

However, the song is likely to fall to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart due to Carrie Underwood's strong single sales. Underwood has sold 129,610 copies of her physical single and 39,024 downloads (Total single sales: 168,634.) Official Billboard positions will be revealed tonight.

--On Billboard's Hot 100 Airplay, "We Belong Together" remains at #1 with a total of 202,105,600 million impressions according to BDS. Not only does Mariah break her own airplay record, but the song is ahead of the #2 song ("Hollaback Girl") by 88.8 million impressions. Ironically, "We Belong Together" is 199.2 million impressions ahead of Underwood's "Inside Your Heaven" which sits at #1 on the Hot 100.

--On Mediabase, "We Belong Together" keeps rising to new airplay peaks and currently has 237.14 million audience impressions and 24,337 spins:

■ Mariah Carey Plans A Double Shot Of 'Technical' Videos

'It's a new approach that I would have to let [the director] explain,' Carey said. Mariah Carey is planning to pull double duty at her next video shoot.

The singer wants to film two clips at the same time when she begins shooting on Thursday, much like she did for the dynamic duo "It's Like That" and "We Belong Together." This time, Carey is set to lens a clip for her next single, "Shake It Off," along with its follow-up, "Say Somethin'."

"We're making two videos," she said. "I actually just got the treatment. We came up with some cool concepts." What those concepts actually are, Carey wouldn't reveal — because it's "really technical." "It's a new approach that I would have to let [the director] explain," she said. "It's new territory."

Don't look for a storyline that ties the two videos together, as found in the last pair, when she left Eric Roberts at the altar in "We Belong Together" to run off with Wentworth Miller — who came into her life in "It's Like That." (see "Mariah Carey: Free At Last?"). While Carey is rooting for a cohesive narrative storyline, she thinks the clips might end up having a "slight" link that comes across only on a subliminal level. Brett Ratner was originally slated to return to direct the videos, but Carey has since selected another director, Jake Nava — at least for "Shake It Off."

"I think people can relate to [the song] no matter what you have to shake out — be it a bad day, a guy, a girl, whatever it is," Carey said. "It's one of those fun songs, where we're not taking ourselves too seriously, but it does say something, and it is real." Carey worked on "Shake It Off" with Jermaine Dupri, but only after she rejected "Say Somethin' " (which she recorded with Pharrell Williams and Snoop Dogg) as the first single from The Emancipation of Mimi.

"L.A. Reid was totally into 'Say Somethin' ' as the first single," she said. "And I was like, 'It's great, but I don't know.' ... It's very Pharrell. He very much goes in that jazzy kind of direction, which is great. I could go there with him, but it's just not where I would naturally go. "L.A. was like, 'You and Jermaine make magic,' " Carey continued. " 'Why don't you go work with Jermaine?' And I was like, 'Well, I love Jermaine. Is he free?' "

Dupri offered to start working with the singer the next day. "So I went down there and did two records with him in two days," Carey revealed. The easygoing nature of their recording sessions was an exact match for what Carey wanted for her Emancipation proclamation, she said. "To me, the spirit is very kind of free and fun and lighthearted," she explained. "It wasn't like I consciously said, 'I'm going to have a good time.' But I mean, it was just where I'm at in my life, naturally."

■ アメリカ独立記念日のテレビ特番への出演が決定

アメリカ独立記念日（7月4日）に米NBCテレビが放映する特番『Macy's Fourth Of July Fireworks Spectacular』に、マライア・キャリーの出演が発表されました。この特番は、独立記念日の恒例である花火ショウを生中継するもので、マライアは花火の映像をバックにパフォーマンスを行なう予定です。NBCテレビの関係者は、「マライアの声は花火と同じようにパワフルで、番組の音楽ゲストとしてピッタリです」と語っています。

■ Feature Interview : I Love My Body

The June 20th edition of the weekly magazine Woman has a two page interview with Mariah, although you wouldn’t know to look at the front cover. Entitled "I love my body!," it asks Mariah to pick between two different options in each question:

Stilettos or trainers?
I love my heels. Even though I’m tall I virtually always wear them-they make me feel like a showgirl.

Pants or thong?
Briefs to sleep in and thongs to dress up in!

Casual or couture?
Couture definitely. I love my Gucci, Versace and Chanel. At the moment I’m auctioning off some of my designer clothing on e-bay for charity. But when I’m at home, I like to be casual. Whenever I’m in London and see someone looking fabulous, I’ll ask then where they got their clothes from- they always say Topshop.

Relationships: love at first sight or slow burn?
Love at first sight is exciting but a slow burn is more practical in the long run.

Tea with Mum or wine with a best friend?
I couldn’t compare the two. It’s great having tea with Mum but I also love hanging out with my friends. Friends are a great tonic for life.

Old friends or celebrity mates?
I still have all my childhood friends. We get together at Christmas and they visit me from al lover the world. My friends and family keep me grounded.

Tears or tantrums?
Oh please! The Emancipation of Mimi (her new album) answers that question. (In the song Circles Mariah says, `As the tears rolled down my eyes/I just keep going round and round and round in circles’, so we take it her answer is tears- although we’ve heard rumours about some pretty spectacular tantrums!)

Toy boy or sugar daddy?
Neither, they’re both bad for your skin!

Go without sex or go without sleep?
That’s for me to know and for you try to find out.

Hate-stomach or bottom?
It depends how I feel on the day. However I’ve learnt to love my body. You have to accept what you’re given. I exercise when I’m preparing for something like a shoot, a film, or a video but I find it tedious. I tend to talk on the phone while I’m doing it to distract myself from the aches and pains.

Manicure or massage?
I’d have a massage. I can do my own manicures because I studied at beauty school before becoming a singer. I take my personal masseuse on tour with me which is one of my luxuries.

I must go- shopping-or only if I have to?
I don’t go shopping very often because I don’t have time but if I do it’s normally to buy presents for friends and family. I love buying for others.

Nightclub-hit the floor or hit the bar?
I think it’s better to hit the DJ booth, make friends with the DJ, tell them what you want them to play-then hit the floor!

Technophobe or techno-fan?
Technophobe. I like urban, hip-hop and soul music (we think Mariah might have misunderstood the question!)

Be on TV or watch TV?
Being on television is a huge part of my job and although I do enjoy it, it’s still work. Resting in bed and watching TV is one of my favourite things.

Eat to live or live to eat?
I’m learning how to eat the right foods for me and I’m enjoying life.

1. Born to a half-Venezuelan, half African-American father and Irish mother, Mariah was bullied at school over her colour.
2. Before becoming a singer she worked as a hostess, clerk & cleaner.
3. In 1988, 17 year old Mariah met CBS Records boss Tommy Mottola, who was 37. After hearing her demo, he signed her for an 8 album deal, fixed her teeth, made her a star, divorced his wife and married Mariah in 1993. They divorced after 5 years.
4. She refuses to appear with Sharon Osbourne after she said Mariah had ‘the best boob job I’ve ever seen’. Mariah denies she’s had one.
5. She’s rumoured to have had a fling with Eminem, but denies it, saying all they did was play on his trampoline.

Mariah is desperate to shake off her diva image- even though rumour has it that on a recent trip to London, she hired a lorry to carry her 50 items of luggage. Mariah’s also said to have had her dog flown from New York to LA, at a cost of £1,558. And for her 35th birthday, she ordered a £5,000, life sized cake, modelled on herself. Still, if a recent appearance with Ant and Dec, where they pretended they’d been expecting Jim Carrey, is anything to go by, at least she’s learning to laugh at herself.

はい、これが待望（？）のDVD付限定盤です。予想を裏切らないとっても期待できない内容でした（爆）本当にDVDがおまけで付きましたって感じ。し・か・もっ！いつ撮ったかとっても疑わしい目で見ていた最後の楽しみの一つ、お姫様のインタビューですが、上の写真を見ておわかりの様に、2月中旬に例のホテルでまとめ撮りした時のものでした（撃沈）要するに発売前にすでに撮られていたものです。そんなんやったら初めに出さんか〜い！っとPCの前で一括。さらにインタビュー（3分ぐらい）の内容は...私たちも何回も聞いて知っているアルバムについての話ばかりでした。そして最後は「日本独自の企画」なのに日本のファンへのメッセージやら「アイシテマス」の一言も貰わずにインタビュー終了。なんか寂しいですよ（苦笑）これは本当にまだTEOMを持っていない人が買うべきCDです。そしてすでにTEOMを持ってるファンの皆さん、「お姫様の売り上げに貢献」っと思って買うことを勧めます。

■ Radio active Carey

TWO years ago Mariah Carey was radio poison in Australia.

Despite being a staple of commercial FM stations throughout the 1990s, changing formats (away from the adult contemporary sound towards a dance and urban sound) had seen Carey bumped off the radio radar. Singles from her 2001 album Glitter and 2002's Charmbracelet were avoided, despite loyal Carey fans bombarding radio stations with requests.
And with her songs not on radio, she struggled on the chart. In Melbourne Mix FM was the only station supporting Carey, briefly.

"Through the Rain (from Charmbracelet) was a classic Mariah ballad and suited our format," Mix FM music director Jakob Pavlovic says. "With other stations, it's more about energy, hype, tempo and being a hit. In hindsight, it's probably fair to say it wasn't the strongest material Mariah has done, and eventually because of weak research (low 'love' scores along with high negative scores), this song also came off the Mix playlist."

A guest spot on Busta Rhymes' 2003 hit I Know What You Want saw Carey back on stations such as Fox and Nova, though tentatively. But this year everything has changed. Carey's It's Like That became a surprise radio success; played across the board on Fox and Nova. "We took our time with the song, we were a little cautious about it," Fox music director Scott Baker-Smith admits. The ballad We Belong Together is now all over Fox and Nova, stations that don't play all that many ballads, as well as Mix.

"She has reinvented herself, and modernised her music," Pavlovic says. "The style of We Belong Together is still a pop ballad, but it doesn't sound like an '80s ballad, it's very modern and stylish." Fox's Baker-Smith says it's "right time and right place" for Mariah this year. "It's worked a treat; they've been killer songs. I don't have the answer; it's the right song at the right time. She was a bit ahead of her time with rap collaborations. Now everyone's doing it. "The new song is a massive ballad and it just sounds great on radio. The feedback's been great on it. She's a superstar again."

ほぉ〜ちょっと興味深いニュースです。Butterfly以降何故かオーストラリアを遠ざけるような感じで過ごしてきたマライアチームですが、この記事によるとオーストラリアの熱烈なファンのリクエストがあるにも関わらず一つのラジオ局を除いて他のラジオ局は全然マライアの曲を流さずリクエストを無視していたようです。理由は「路線がズレていてオーストラリアでは売れないだろう」っという勝手な判断を下していたようです。そして今作からWBTが全米でNO.1に輝きセールスも好調でさすがにこの快挙を無視できず今頃やっとPUSHされているようです。長年オーストラリアに行かなかったのはもしかしたらこの記事に書かれていることが原因の一つだったのかもしれませんね...。姫もかわいそうだけど頑張ってるファンが可哀相。

Coldplay's third studio album becomes the band's first career chart-topper and leads a pack of highly anticipated summer sets arriving on this week's Billboard 200. With U.S. sales of 737,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, the U.K. act's "X&Y" (Capitol) greatly distanced itself from new releases from the Black Eyed Peas, the White Stripes and Shakira, all of whom nonetheless saw career-best sales.

With the first four slots taken by new titles, Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" (Island/Def Jam) falls 1-5 a week after reclaiming The Billboard 200 throne. The album, which has spent two non-consecutive weeks on top, has the dubious honor of leading the landslide of remaining top 10 albums with its 12% sales tumble to 151,000.

はい、お久しぶり、皆さん（笑）何も忙しいわけではなかったのですが「天国の階段」に見入ってしまい更新を少しサボってしまいました（笑）いやいや、まぁそんなニュースもなかったので...失礼。今日はWBTが発売されましたね〜。UKシングルが一番内容はいいのですが、まぁ500円ぽっきりなんでお買い得です。来週はMimi Special Edition ( DVD付）が発売されますが、楽しみといえばMariahのSPインタビューですがどのぐらい収録されてるんでしょうね？しかもいつのインタビューなんでしょうか？（爆）撮り直しとかしてそうな雰囲気もなさ気だし...まぁ楽しみに待つか...。

■ Mariah Wants To Sing With George

MARIAH Carey is trying to persuade George Michael to duet with her at Live 8. The pair have been keen to keep their plans secret, but George is on the verge of agreeing to perform with the American singer. A source said: "Mariah is a massive fan of George's. He's currently recording a duets album, so she thought he might be up for this.

"She's so excited to be involved in the Hyde Park gig and was trying to think of something that would make her performance really special. "She thinks a duet with George is the perfect thing." George has already told pals he is keen to perform some Wham! classics as well as his solo hits at the concert. The 41-year-old sang Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me with Sir Elton John at the Live Aid concert in 1985.

But the pair recently fell out when Sir Elton said George should get out more. George's last live performance on a similar scale was at the NetAid concert at Wembley Stadium in 1999. Mariah has said before that George was her hero when she was a schoolgirl. "I looked at him and I wanted to do what he was doing," she once said.

はい、恒例となった来日後の裏話ですが、今回はこんなものを発見！これなかなかレアなサインですよ〜（笑）すぐに目に入ったのがこの「平和=Peace」という二文字！伝えたい気持ちはわかるんですが....アルバムジャケになんか不自然というか奇妙というか...とっても変（爆）中学の男の子が書いたような字ですが紛れもなくお姫様が平和に願いを込めて頑張って書いたサインです。まぁ上手く書けてる方だと思いますが、やっぱり何度見ても面白いです（笑）姫は何しても可愛いいな〜。字にも「愛」を感じます。あっこの裏話についての感想ですが、かなりマライア・タイムにお疲れだったようですね〜。ってかズーミンあぁ見えてあれでも結構指示されてたんですね（笑）中に入ってた人大変だったでしょうね（苦笑）ちょっとウケマシタ。

■ Jermaine Dupri Shakes It With Mariah

Jermaine Dupri is back at the top of the charts with writing and producing credits on Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" and is anticipating another return with the release of the third single from The Emancipation of Mimi, "Shake It Off."

"'Shake It Off' was just like ... That comes from that style of I guess [Usher's] Confessions and just that bounce," he said. "It's got a lot of ingredients to it because I never thought that Mariah could make a bouncy type of record. When you hear that song — the whole bounce of the record and the way she's flipping it and the stuff she talking about ... I knew that record was gonna go just because you never heard Mariah talk about this stuff. ... She's like, 'I packed up my Louis Vuitton.' She took it really on the ghetto side. I knew that was gonna strike people. Either it was gonna hit them in a wrong way or they was gonna love it.

"I had that beat actually before she got to the studio. So she came in, she heard that beat and was like, 'Yeah, that's what I want,'" he continued. "That was one of the first records we had. I didn't really know what to do for her because I didn't hear nothing else that was on the album, but I just felt like she didn't have that bounce on her album."

"Shake It Off" is already on the radio, and "Gotta Getcha" is one of the records on Dupri's So So Def compilation Young, Fly and Flashy, Vol. 1, due July 19.

■ 全米アルバム・チャート　マライアが1位に再浮上

マライア・キャリーの『MIMI』は、真の復活アルバムのようだ。

9週間前にリリースされたポップ・ディーヴァのニュー・アルバムは、発売週に40万3000枚の売り上げを記録し、ビルボード・アルバム・チャートで首位デビューを飾った。しかしその後、数々のロック勢が押し寄せてきたため、同作は2位と3位の間をさまよっていた。そして今週、マライアは再び首位への復活を遂げた。

■ #1 Album & #1 Single Belong To Mariah!

Mark down the date of this week's Billboard issue: June 18th, 2005. For the first time in 9 years, Mariah Carey tops both singles and albums charts in the US.

In its 8th week on the Billboard 200, "The Emancipation of Mimi" reclaims the #1 spot on the chart after having sold 171,519 copies this week (4% decrease from last week) for a total of 1,722,135 copies sold.

On the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, "We Belong Together" spends its 10th week on the chart at #1 for a third week in a row, leaving competition way behind with a combined total of 252 million audience impressions.

The last time Mariah had both a #1 album and a #1 single at the same time was on January 13th, 1996 when "Daydream" spent its 6th and last week at #1 and "One Sweet Day" - its 7th (out of 16).

お姫様とLambsのひと時の幸せな時間のVTRです（笑）MTVとかの式典とかだとたくさんの日本の有名アーティストが終結するわけで結構ホテルとかゴチャゴチャしてるのかと思ってましたが、皆興味ないのか、終わったら電車に乗って帰っていく人たちが殆どでした。マライア待ってる間にみかけた人たちの感想、クリスタルケイ、会場では一つに髪の毛まとめてロングドレス着てたけど裏口から出てきた時はボンバーヘアでジャージ着て携帯で喋りながら歩いてました。オレンジレンジ、メンバー勢ぞろいでボサッと突っ立てました。ファンだと勘違いされるのも嫌なんでまったく違う方向を見て興味ないことをアピール（笑）サンボマスター、ほんとうに普通の人たち（笑）ジブラ...普段はオレ様って感じだけど愛娘肩に担いでよきパパになってました。まぁそんな人たちが歩いてました。

で、時間も0時前でしたのでいい加減ホテルも閑散としてまして待ってるのはお馴染みのお姫様ファングループが何組か待ってる状態だったんです。皆もうすぐ姫が出てくるの知ってるので静かに待ってるんですが、ユニバのスタッフさん（新人さんかな？）わざわざ目の前で携帯で喋りながら聞こえるようにでかい声で「マライアさん間もなく出てこられます」とか言ってニンマリしながら私たちに教えてあげたわよ♪みたいな勘違いな視線で何度も通るんですが、皆一言「声でかいよ、あの人。っていうか知ってるし。野次馬とかいっぱい集まりだしたらど〜すんのよね！」っと呆れてました。で、２〜３分してからゆっくりエレベーターを降りてお姫様が出てまいりました。エレベーター降りてすぐ前にソファーがあるんですけど、そのソファーに座ってた5~6人の人たちは別にお姫様には興味がないような人たちで「あぁ〜マライアだぁ〜」って感じで皆さんボォ〜っと姫を見てたんですが、お姫様何かと勘違いしやすいのでそのボォ~っと見てる人たちにハニカミながら自分から指ヒラして笑顔を振りまいてとことここっちに歩いてきました（笑）皆の心に「姫、そっちはファンとかじゃなくてふつ〜に休憩してる人たちだから....（苦笑）」っという言葉が木霊してました。で、こっちにきて「あら〜っ！来てたの！？」っと寄ってきてこの映像が始ります。ちょっと暗いので見るときはビデオ設定のところで明るくしてもらえればよくみれると思います。っということでプチレポートでした。

3am EXCLUSIVE: With a new hit album, Mariah Carey's back on top

I 'VE barely had time to catch my breath from the climb up the driveway to Mariah Carey's palatial Los Angeles home when a voluptuous vision in white glides into view.

"I'm sooo sorry to have kept you waiting", she purrs. "My conference call just went on for ever..."

For the full 11 minutes that Mariah has "kept me waiting," a steady trickle of elaborate canapes have appeared from one of the rented mansion's rooms.

Mariah, looking stunn- ing in a gypsy skirt and vest that shows off her curves, has been here less than a day (there's been a flood at her New York apartment and the scale of the damage has yet to be assessed) but already the Bel Air abode is perfumed with the expensive scent of the Diptyque candles.

In the imposing entrance hall, every surface is covered by silver-framed photographs that depict happy moments in Mariah's life: holidays with friends, her family, even a scruffy ginger cat.

Mariah has had a rough time of late. There was a two-week stay in hospital for, what some have said, was a nervous breakdown. She says it was exhaustion. Then she was savaged for her film and album - both called Glitter. Then came the $30 million pay-off to leave her label EMI.

Critics world-wide had written her off. But Mariah is most definitely back as she has been lined up to headline alongside Madonna and U2 at London's Live 8 concert on July 2.

"I'm so thrilled to be taking part - it's an honour to even be asked. I have African-American heritage so it's a cause that's close to my heart.

"To create awareness is important to me and I know that Bob Geldof is making such an effort to make this an impactful event to inspire people. It's going to be a great day."

After a period in the pop wilderness, Mariah's new album Emancipation Of Mimi has added to her tally of over 150 million singles and albums sold and spawned her 16th US number one - confirming her status as the biggest-selling female artist ever.

But she insists her happiness has little to do with silencing the critics, who claimed the lukewarm reception to her previous albums - 2002's Charmbracelet and the soundtrack to the box-office flop Glitter - marked the end of her reign at the top. "Charmbracelet sold three million albums and for me that's not a flop.

"When I was working on Charmbracelet my father passed away - it was a difficult time.

"But I had to go through those moments that weren't the happiest times 'cos they got me to this.

"At this moment, I'm in a good place - it's a new chapter in my life."

As she fusses over my fluid intake ("Can I get you some lemonade?) Mariah describes a typical day in her new chapter. "If we're doing a TV show I have to get up earlier than I would choose!

"Then it's the whole 'hurry up and wait' situation - you sit in a crowded dressing room for hours, then do the show, and if there's something the next day I come home and get right in bed to rest my voice.

"I've got five humidifiers by my bed - I zone out and try not talk too much. It's very boring!

"My ideal day would be spent on a Caribbean island with friends. Some tropical drinks, massages, swimming and, of course, we'd have to have Jack with us."

Jack is the current love of Mariah's life. A lively Jack Russell who boasts his own fan site and a Japanese admirer who wears a dog costume in his honour. "She's very devoted," Mariah laughs, before deciding that Jack is ready for his big reveal.

"He hasn't had his make-up done though," she jokes. "I think this will be his first interview."

Seconds later Mariah re-enters the room with her beloved mutt leaping up and down, trying to snatch a saliva-covered toy from her manicured hand.

As Jack dashes out in search of a gecko ("he just loves those lizards"), the conversation turns to Mariah's growing affinity with urban music. "It's a gradual evolution. It was a side of me that was stifled by the people in control of my early career."

People like Tommy Mottola, her controlling former husband and manager, I offer?

M ARIAH laughs: "If I insisted on doing something and it didn't work, they'd be like 'you see what happens when you listen to your instincts'.

"There were a lot of mind games that went on."

What about the wholesome image that was cultivated for her back then?

"When I started I was in agreement that we didn't want to go too sexy and take the focus off me as a singer. But five years later I was like: 'Can we maybe do the hair straight? Show a little skin? This turtle-neck's about to consume my head!

"When I left that crew of people I had my rebellious stage - any time I could throw on my bikini and take a picture I was like 'woah!' - doing the opposite of everything they tried to force me to do."

Mariah says she's now found a happy medium where her image is concerned - but admits she's still working through her long-standing issues. I ask her what last made her cry and after a long pause, her eyes moisten.

"A family situation. It was recent and I don't know if it's sorted out.

"I still see therapists - I think it's good to figure out a way to handle situations rather than letting your emotions get the better of you."

Her troubled childhood - in which her parents divorced when she was three, and her inter-racial heritage caused problems for her at school - along with a turbulent relationship history, have stifled her own maternal urges.

"Do I want to have kids? That's funny, Snoop Dogg was asking me that yesterday. It's something I'd have to think about carefully.

"It's scary and I think a lot of apprehension also comes from trying to find the right person. I'd want to make sure that I didn't make a mistake again - I feel bad about getting married to Tommy. I figured if I got married, maybe Tommy would lighten up, but it was the wrong thing to do. I'd only get married again if I decided to have kids."

The one subject Mariah is coy about is her love life. "I'd love to talk about it but I can't," she says before conceding that fame is a hindrance to finding Mr Right.

"It's a bizarre existence. And I've never bought into it - if I'm being interviewed I have to sit here and talk about myself but if I'm meeting a guy in a social situation, it's much nicer when they have other stuff to talk about.

"Most of my friends aren't in the public eye. It's important to have 'real' people around you."

Highest on her potential-mate checklist is a sense of humour - "With my life you have to be able to laugh!" - followed by a good character and generosity.

"I love baubles. A breakfast bauble, a lunch bauble - a girl's best friend!" With that, Mariah's publicist says she's running late for another meeting and asks if she minds having her picture taken. "But I look like I weigh 80 million pounds in this outfit," she laughs.

Six snaps later and Mariah - alleged uber-diva incapable of functioning without an 80-strong entourage - lets me pick the photos.

She then thanks me for my time and apologises for her timekeeping.

And not a flustered flunkie in sight.

Mariah Carey's new single, We Belong Together, is out on July 4 (UK).

■ Parade Magazine Interview: "I Didn't Feel Worthy Of Happiness"

"When I was growing up, I felt trapped in a world not suited to me," Mariah Carey said. "What I saw around me was scary, and it wasn't where I wanted to be. I refused to accept it as my future."

What Carey saw around her - and what was impatient to escape - were bigotry, substance abuse, poverty. She wanted to create a very different future for herself. Music was the means she used to do it. "I had a goal," she said. "I knew I wanted to sing. It was more than a dream to me. It was a prayer that I prayed with my whole heart. It was something I truly believed would happen, and it did."

Mariah Carey, 35, is arguably the most popular female singer, ever. Since releasing her first record at 20, she has sold more than 150 million albums and had more No. 1 singles than any individual performer except Elvis Presley. Still, Carey said, "I didn't feel worthy of happiness. One day, I looked around and thought, "why did I ever expect that if I had this success, I would have happiness too?"

Four years ago, the sparkling world that Carey had worked so hard to create began spinning out of control. Her movie Glitter and its CD flopped. Her record company, Virgin, responded by paying her to go away. Her three-year romance with Mexican singer Luis Miguel petered out. Her father died of cancer. On top of all this misfortune, she had a physical and emotional breakdown that landed her in the hospital. Many people in the music business wrote her off. She was in a bad way, and she knew it.

"I needed the focus and determination that I once had," she said. "I wanted the faith back." Carey has now come back with The Emancipation of Mimi ("Mimi" is Mariah's nickname), a terrific new CD with lovely R&B ballads and danceable hip-hop, all written by her. An enormous hit, it had the biggest first-week sakes of any of her 10 studio albums. "With this record, I wanted to get back to the little girl I was," she said. "I wanted that purity."

The youngest of three children born into a biracial family, Carey was raised in difficult circumstances in Hungtington, N.Y., not far from New York City. Her father, Alfred, was an aeronautical engineer. Her mother, Patricia, 67, a sometime singer, is of Irish Catholic descent. "My mom fell in love with my dad, and it was a controversial situation because he was black," Carey said. "She had grown up in a very rigid environment, went to convent school, and to marry my father was a rebellious act. There was a lot of prejudice."

When Mariah was 3, her parents had a bitter divorce. In its wake came family disputes, financial distress and insecurity. "I grew up with nothing," Mariah said. "My mother struggled to make ends meet. I never knew when the rug would be pulled out from under me. Still, it was probably better to be with my mother than my father. He thought my dream of singing was far-fetched. It was my mother who taught me how to sing." Then she smiled. "My father taught me how to whistle."

"I started singing when I started talking," she went on. "I always had such a desire to be around music. I absorbed it like a sponge. I'd hear my mother singing Rigoletto around the house, and then I'd hear Al Green's 'Call Me' on the radio. At night I'd listen to the radio under the covers and sing along. The radio was my friend, speaking just to me. Music was such a gift!"

Music was also an escape from the racial prejudice she felt. "I'd go into a store with my father," she said, "and people would stare, you know. Or I'd be with my mother, who is very Irish-looking, and I'm mixed, and people would ask, 'What is your father?' The fear, the sense of inadequacy, the feeling of not being fully accepted - I felt all that. You get to a certain age, and you don't tell your parents everything anymore," she continued. "It's embarrassing to say, 'Well, I felt really ugly in school today. My hair was in knots.' You grow up looking Sixteen Candles and wanting to be the popular girl. You look at the other kids and think, 'Where do I fit?' I felt like an outcast."

When Carey was 13, she got her first paid job. "I got money to sing background vocals," she said. "I thought, 'This is amazing. It's a whole other world!' I started by doing jingles, and then I did demos of writers' songs because I'm also a good mimic. If the sound du jour was a little thin and nasally [she trilled a scale], well, I can do that. Or I can do a more breathy sound, like Olivia Newton-John, which is my natural voice. I began thinking, 'I can write better songs than this,' and started writing songs."

In 1987, after graduating from high school, Carey moved into Manhattan. She was 17, intensely ambitious, with a beautiful voice of dazzling virtuosity over an astonishing five-octave range. The next year, Carey was signed to a recording contract with Columbia Records by Tommy Mottola of Sony Music. In two years, her music would help make Mottola the most powerful man in the record business, and it would earn Carey fame and tremendous wealth.

Her debut album, Mariah Carey, released in 1990, sold 9 million copies and produced four consecutive No. 1 singles. Carey said that her long Columbia/Sony partnership eventually made the company more than $1 billion. Mottola, 20 years older than Carey, was married and had two young children when they met. Carey was still a virgin. "I'm not a promiscuous girl," she said. "I believe that's something to be proud of."

In 1993, Carey married Mottola, who by then was president of Sony Music Entertainment, and they built a lavish mansion on a 50-acre estate in Tony Bedford, N.Y. Carey paid for half of everything. "In the beginning, it was easy to be enthralled by him," she said. "He totally believed in me as an artist. He represented a stability I'd never had. I loved and cared for him."

She paused for a moment, then said: "When fame happened, he couldn't handle it. I was treated almost like a prisoner. Everybody around me was deathly afraid of him. I became so scared. I was like an obsession and a possession." She separated from Mottola, and they were divorced in 1998. "When I got married," she said, "I really thought it was going to be forever. I wish someone had smacked me in the face."

During this marital turmoil, Carey attended a gala for The Fresh Air Fund, which provides free rural vacations for underpriveleged New York children. (As a teen, she'd spent time at one of its camps. Now there's a Camp Mariah in Fishkill, N.Y., named in her honor.) That night she met Derek Jeter. An eventual romance with the Yankee shortstop altered how she understood herself. "Derek parents are like mine," Carey said. "His father's black, his mom's Irish. So when I saw how great his family was, it gave me hope. I realized that I was blaming all the problems of my life on growing up biracial. Derek's family functioned great as a unit, and I'd never see that before. I looked at Derek, and it changed my perception." But the romance ended in less than a year. Why so soon? "It was the wrong time," she said quietly. "Our two worlds were just too much for that moment."

By 1999, she had begun an affair with Luis Miguel. That relationship lasted, on and off, until her career hit the skids. Mariah reacted with compulsive overwork and too little sleep. Then she shattered inside.

I asked what had sustained her through the breakdown. She recalled a memory from childhood: "It was when I was 4 years old. My parents' battles, craziness - whatever - was going on in my house. Everybody was crying. It got to the point where the police were called. That's how intense it was. Then someone called Nana Reese to come to the house, because we needed her."

Sarah "Nana" Cole Reese, her father's aunt, was a Pentecostal minister. "Nana was the real thing, a healer," Carey said. "She laid her hands on me, and I felt in that moment a connection between us. She said, "You're going to be OK. All your dreams are going to come true."

"The faith Nana Reese and my mother had in me carried me through," she said. "And because I know I'm not perfect, I've had to learn forgiveness. I try wholeheartedly to forgive anyone I feel has wronged me, because I hope people who feel I've wronged them will forgive me. I want to be a forgiving person."

Rapper/producer Lil Jon tops the list of finalists for this year's Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards.

The awards ceremony will close Billboard's sixth annual R&B/hip-hop conference. The event runs Aug. 3-5 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Atlanta.

Alicia Keys and 50 Cent are finalists in six categories each. Both are in the running for top R&B/hip-hop singles artist. That category also includes Usher, who is named in five categories, including top R&B/hip-hop artist.

Destiny's Child and Terror Squad each have four mentions. Additional finalists in multiple categories include Snoop Dogg, Eminem, the Game and Fantasia. Mariah Carey, who recently earned her 16th No. 1 single on The Billboard Hot 100, is a finalist for top female R&B/hip-hop artist.

Comprising 17 categories, the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards honor the most popular albums, songs and artists as well as the top songwriters, producers and major/independent labels. The awards are based on sales data from Nielsen SoundScan and radio airplay information from Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems.

This year's finalists and winners reflect the performance of recordings on the Billboard R&B/hip-hop and rap charts during the period from May 29, 2004, through the issue dated May 21, 2005. New artists are those who have not appeared on a Billboard album chart prior to the March 27, 2004, issue or have not been a new-artist finalist in the past.

はい、今日でお姫様が来日してちょうど１週間になります。早いですね〜。で、やっと本日MTV Video Music Japan Awards '05が放送されます。レッドカーペットの放送も入れて、19:00~ 23:00までですのでお間違いなく。放送が終わり次第すぐにファイルをUPしますので見れない方はしばしお待ちを！目安ですが、授賞式でマライアはそんなに最後に出てくるわけではありませんでした。韓国のピくんのパフォーマンスの後に出てきました。で、アイコン賞の授与はその３０分ほど後でした。まぁ編集とかして順番が変わっていなければそんな感じです。今回も聞くというよりは目で楽しむだけのパフォーマンスです（苦笑）意味わかりますよね？（笑）

It is official: Mariah will perform in Karlsruhe on July 09 and in Bonn on July 12. This has now also been confirmed by the concert agencies and here's all the information for you:

Mariah will do an open air-concert at the Messe Karlsruhe. It will take place along with the arrival of the Tour de France stop in Karlsruhe. ついにワールドツアーの詳細が出てまいりました。まずこれは杮落としになるんでしょうかね？ドイツで7月9日と12日にTEOM Tourが行われることが決定しました。会場の規模的にやはりCB Tourのようにまた小さい会場でやるような感じですね。今回は夏にEUを回って少し休んで日本に9月、そして10,11月のUSっいうスケジュールになるんじゃないんでしょうかね...。先日の来日でお姫様、秋にコンサートで戻ってくると言ってましたので日本には間違いなく9月10月に来ます。

■ POPULARITY OF ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS INSPIRED CAREY MUSICAL

MARIAH CAREY was inspired to write a musical based around her album MERRY CHRISTMAS because she's still amazed when people play the 1994 disc's hit song ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS each year.

The 35-year-old singer, who last week (ends27MAY05) became the most successful female artist in American chart history when her song WE BELONG TOGETHER was her 16th single to hit the US top spot, has been working on a festive musical for years.

And Carey hopes to have the production ready for Christmas 2006.

She says, "Every year when I hear All I Want For Christmas Is You, I'm like, 'Wow, this is a song that people really play every year at Christmas time.' And I wrote it and it's just a great feeling.

"So the musical is inspired by all the original material and some of the covers from the album Merry Christmas and I'm looking forward to it.

"I've had a few meetings about it and put some preliminary things together. It's probably not going to be able to happen for this year (05) but we are really, really focusing on it now."

誰もがどうせ「延期」になるだろうと予想していた今年噂されていたUKでのミュージカルですが、来年のクリスマスまでお預けになったようです。いろいろ計画を練っているようで「多分今年は無理っぽいんだけど絶対にやるからね〜」だって（笑）もういいよ（笑）ってか私的にはミュージカルに拘るんじゃなくてコンサートの一部分で少しやってくれたらいいんんじゃないかと思うんですが...そしたら世界のファンが自分達の国で見れるわけだし...。

Congratulations MiMi!!! はい、ということで先週に引き続きWBTが見事2週目NO.1を獲得！そしてTEOMは先週2位から一歩後退し今週は3位にランクイン。しかし、これは悪い意味の3位ではなく、発売7週目にして勢い劣らず1位並の新譜の勢いで今週も変わらず約18万枚売ってるんです。USチャートでは2週目になると一気に半分セールスが落ちるケースが殆どなんですが、その勘定で行くと、来週UKのOasisがUSで発売されますがよく頑張っても10万枚強ぐらいだろうと見込まれているようで、Mariahの1位返り咲きの可能性が高いようです。おぉ〜っ。また感動。ってかずっと1位獲っててもおかしくないセールスだけに早く1位に戻らせてだげたいっすね〜！

Here is a short video of Wannai which just aired and showed a clip of Mariah arriving at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan and receiving an award.

昨夜のワンナイで流れたVMAJの映像です。家帰ってTVつけたらこれが終わった後からでした（涙）P&Pでファイル・アップしてくれていますので是非ご覧ください。また、同日の朝、とくダネでお姫様のインタビューが流れたらしいのですがセットミスで撮り損ねてしまいました（涙）内容は「MiMi」とは日本語で「耳やパンのミミ」っていう意味があるようなことをデイブが説明すると「そんなの嘘よ〜」っと言ってたそうな。また、今話題の直立不動するレッサーパンダの写真を見せると「あり得な〜い！」っとまた信じてなかったそうな（笑）あと、以前日本で買ったアメショーのトーキョーですがまだ日本の友達に預けてるそうです。預けてるというよりは.....（笑）まぁそんな感じのインタビューだったようで見た知人の話からは「イマイチ意味がわかんないのか、あんまり楽しそうな感じでもなかった」っとのことでした。はぁ〜っ、とりあえず見たかったな。

■ Appearance of Red Carpet @ MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2005

「MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2005」が29日、東京ベイNKホール（千葉県浦安市）で行なわれた。マライア･キャリー、安室奈美恵、ORANGE RANGE　らの国内外のビック・アーティストらがレッド・カーペットを歩いた。ORANGE RANGEが3部門、平井堅が2部門を授賞、安室奈美恵は個人で3年連続の授賞となった。

レッドカーペットの様子が見れます。写真ではよくわかりませんでしたが背中がぱっくり開いたすごいHot Tamleなドレスでビックリでした。

■ 「ライブ8」開催へ　U2、マドンナ、ジェイ・Z、マライア、コールドプレイらが出演

チャリティー・コンサート「Live Aid」の仕掛け人、ボブ・ゲルドフが現地時間の5月31日、新たなコンサートの企画を発表した。「Live Aid」は1985年に開催され、アフリカの飢餓救済のために何百万ドルもの募金を集めた伝説のコンサート。しかし、ゲルドフは今回、お金よりも意識の向上に興味を持っているとしている。

7月2日に開催される「Live 8」と題されたこのイベントは、「Live Aid」のように2都市で2公演を行う代わりに、5都市で5公演を行う予定とのこと。今回の目的は第3世界での貧困問題にスポットライトを当てることだという。出演が決定しているアーティストは、U2、マライア・キャリー、コールドプレイ、50セント（写真）、ジェイ・Z、デイヴ・マシューズ・バンドなど。無料コンサートの会場に選ばれたのは、ロンドンのハイド・パーク、パリのエッフェル塔の下、ベルリンのブランデンブルク門、ローマの大円形競技場、そしてフィラデルフィアのフィラデルフィア美術館。

ゲルドフはロンドンで開かれた記者会見の席で、「今日我々がここに来たのは、私は再びこのようなことをやるのが本当に嫌だったからです。ほぼ完璧な成功を収めた20年前のあの輝かしい日よりも良いイベントなど、考えられませんでした」と述べた。「でも（U2の）ボノと、（フィルムメーカーの）リチャード（・カーティス）が、『もう1回やってくれ』と言い続けました。どうやったら違う方法で実現できるか? もうチャリティーは考えられませんでした」。

コンサートは7月6日〜8日にスコットランドで行われる、G8サミット（主要先進国首脳会議）とタイミングを合わせて行われる。G8サミットでは世界で最も裕福な国々の首脳が集い、第3世界の債務軽減について話し合う予定だ。

ロンドン公演にはポール・マッカートニー、U2、マライア・キャリー、コールドプレイ、マドンナ、エルトン・ジョン、スティング、アニー・レノックス、ダイド、キーン、ミューズ、シザー・シスターズ、ジョス・ストーン、ステレオフォニックス、ロビー・ウィリアムズ、R.E.M.、レイザーライト、ヴェルヴェット・リヴォルヴァー、ザ・キラーズ、ザ・キュアー、ゲルドフ自身、そしてスノウ・パトロールが決定している。フィラデルフィアではウィル・スミスが司会を務め、ボン・ジョヴィ、デイヴ・マシューズ・バンド、スティーヴィー・ワンダー、マルーン5、ジェイ・Z、サラ・マクラクラン、ロブ・トーマス、キース・アーバン、50セント、カイザー・チーフス、P・ディディがフィーチャーされる。

ベルリンでステージに立つのは、クロスビー・スティルズ＆ナッシュ、ローリン・ヒル、A-HA、ディ・トーテン・ホーゼン、ビーチ・ボーイズのブライアン・ウィルソン。パリ公演にはジャミロクワイ、プラシーボ、クレイグ・デイヴィッド、アンドレア・ボッチェリ、ジョニー・アリディ、マヌー・チャオ、ユッスー・ンドゥール、テニス選手から歌手に転身したヤニック・ノアが、ローマ公演にはデュラン・デュラン、フェイス・ヒル、ティム・マッグロウが、それぞれ出演する。

主催者はまた、上記以外のG8諸国（日本、カナダ、ロシア）での開催も検討中だと述べたが、31日の時点では発表されていない。

ほぉ〜っ。楽しそうなライブですね。行きてぇ〜〜。お姫様はロンドン公演に参加するようです。ロックよりの日のほうですね...もう少し仲間が欲しいな。

お待たせしました。Zoom Inの映像です。VMAJの後、控え室として利用していたホテルにて簡単にインタビュー開始。「一日に2回も神戸ビ〜フを食べちゃったわ！ウフフン♪」って...（笑）だから太るんだよ〜！（爆）しかも来日回数についてすごい大嘘をついてましたね〜。そういうことにしておきましょう（笑）ちなみにこのインタビュー中、私たちは下で待っており取材が終わってお姫様が出てくる時に少し時間をとってくれて皆でお話することができました。メイクはとってもナチュラルでし・か・も！久しぶりにグラサンなしでしたのであの可愛い綺麗な瞳をじっくり見ることができ見つめられた時はあのTamaleビームにやられてしまい久々にボ~っとしてしまいました。いつも描いてるJackの絵について感想を聞くと「とっても素敵！大好きよ〜ありがとう！」って言ってくれました。あと、「Jackに会ったことはある？」と聞かれ、まだ会ったことがないと言ったらちょっと意外そうでした（笑）まぁ今度USまで行けば会わせてくれそうな感じかも。そして、ボディーガードにはダメ！と言われるのは前提で「Kissして」ってお願いしたらやっぱりNGだったので今回一番やりたかったこと"Air Kiss"をお願いしました。そしたらお姫様「Air Kiss!」っとノッてくれて即座にホッペを左右に揺らせながら一緒に「プォッ、プォッ♪」ってAir Kissを楽しみました（笑）これが一番私にとって楽しい思い出になりました。あとは、HBFの会員カードに順不同で（笑）「Jack Love Love Mimi 」っと書いてくれました。ペンが太かったので書きにくそうでしたが（苦笑）これで次の日は朝一で大阪に帰らなくてはいけなくお見送りできなかったのですが心置きなく帰ることができました。この映像はちょっと悪い方なんでまた良い方が届きましたらUPしようと思いますのでお楽しみに。
